It's NFS. There is always an element of disappointment and subsequent bagging afterwards.

    Happens with most NFS releases.
Yes i agree with smarteyeball.. Disappointment everytime new NFS comes out.. they should make another NFS with giving a new name Need For Speed: Disappointment

Call of Duty is just a massive cash cow now, and is a huge disappointment every November; I haven't brought a COD since MW2 properly, and only brought Black Ops because I still had Xbox Live Gold at the time and everyone was playing it also.

Well i compare NFS Most Wanted with Need For Speed it was once in real... now NFS has lost it's touch long ago... the early Need For Speed's like lets say NFS III Hot Pursuit changed the Whole conept of Driving than High Stakes was much than the 3rd and same goes for Porsche Unleashed which i say was one of the best NFS game ever made in Racing games history.. 6th installment of NFS was the first downfall for the series as it did'nt got much appreciation as the developers expected it to be than they made something unique called Underground.. it really took the racing games into the world of customization and illegal street racing.. Most Wanted (1) was a great game as well but Carbon could'nt stood beside it we talk about majority of racing fans.. Since Criterion started to work for NFS games they feel more like Burnout with better graphics that's all.. the guys who make NFS now focus more on graphics and voice acting by some cheap slutty ladies in the background like the one in Most Wanted it's like she's not talking about cars or anything it feels more like she wanna to get in bed lol... NFS was once great in making racing games but it's not anymore and that's the truth my friend and not many enjoy them anymore..

The Need For Speed now should take a long break for 3 to 4 years and deverlopers and company should sit, think and plan what they should do to make a better game that will remind fans the good memories rather than just releasing a new NFS every year. They need to start listening and taking feedbacks from fans on there forums and stop making nfs every year. That's the only solution that will lend them to produce something better in future.

Dont know why people keep saying NFS:MW is bad,its certainly not an exceptional game out of the series , its not that bad either. Besides when was the last time PC got a Modern gen racing game? It looks absolutely stunning too, you're not gona see all its capable of on a 2GB DDR3 gpus guys. Although it mostly depends on you're CPU and that could explain the problems everyone is having.
I prefer the second generation of NFS games, I mean, hey, remember when Need for Speed games used to have plots? The last good PC racing game I played was Race Driver GRID (which is pretty old, but later games like TDU2 were shocking), so yeah, I see your point. It just feels more like Burnout Paradise than NFS. I didn't particularly like Shift or Shift 2 as NFS used to be all about street racing (but I didn't mind Pro Street too much). Hot Pursuit lulled me into the sense of hope that Criterion could do driving games other than Burnout, but the whole gameplay of NFS:MW suggests otherwise. The steering mechanics don't even seem as tight as Burnout Paradise though, they just feel loose and unresponsive. When I play games where you race on streets, I like to stay on the streets, not overshoot a corner and into obstacles because the wheels don't turn enough.

I do as well to a degree. Originally, an NFS title was something to look forward to. Now you have a fair idea what you're going to get. it doesn't matter how cool the cutscene/trailers - NFS titles are just stale hash jobs, mixed with could have beens. (NFS Shift/2 could have been great apart from the fact it was plagued with enough issues that equaled suck.

And when you have titles like Forza, F1 or the Burnout-esque style games that are just better in every way, it's hard not to compare and pooh-pooh NFS efforts. Then there are Codemasters efforts and it's just another nail in the coffin for NFS half baked executions.

(To be fair though - a lot of it also comes down to EA themselves forcing developers to rehash sellers or let unfinished products out the door.

the early Need For Speed's like lets say NFS III Hot Pursuit changed the Whole conept of Driving
While they didn't originally come up with all ideas - police chase, tickets etc. That goes to a game from 1989 called 'Vette, which was the first 'sandbox' driving game. NFS however took elements and refined them. And each release had something 'new'.

    Now...

Porsche Unleashed which i say was one of the best NFS game ever made in Racing games history..
In it's day it was. It was probably the last NFS I truly loved playing.

'Vette (was pretty damn cool in it's day)
