BTW, anyone else here have or playing Alice Madness Returns?

Turns out EA was hiding DLCs from us, and just ran into this little tweak to unlock it.

Go to My Documents/My Games/ Alice Madness Returns/ Alice Game/ Config

Open the AliceEngine.ini and Do a search (CTRL+F) for:

    GIsSpecialPCEdition=False

Change False to True and Save it.

    Now you have the DLCs!!

You'll also have a option to play the original Alice as well, but it will CTD if you choose it, Since those files are truly missing. The DLC for dresses however, is there.

When you start Alice, go to the section where you change outfits (X on the 360 Controller, not sure what the KB button is) and you'll see a few new dresses with perks you can wear.

Heres 1 of the dresses (think you get 5):

thanks for letting us know i still have my savegames and need to finish AMR.. i read somewhere that developers already added the DLC's with the PC version but why they hide it? also it was locked at 30FPS but thanks to Unreal Engine INI that most of us are easily able to tweak it as well and get constant 60FPS

EA done the same thing with Dead Space 2.

The DLC was already in the game at launch, then they charged people for it.
They also said DLC wouldn't be available for the PC, only on consoles.

Both games were a ini fix changing False to True to unlock it.

Kinda sad when you think about it. Thats not DLC. Thats charging people to unlock somethign they already have.
Not sure its so easy on the consoles though.

currently playing LA Noire - great game, was having lagging/stuttering that was almost unplayable until I entered "-str" in the command line at startup and now its smooth as silk.

also playing deus ex: HR and fallout new vegas through the steam sales lately - loving both games

Good question!! I did a quick google search when I first starting playing and found this. I thought what the heck, tried it and thankfully it worked like a charm

This should give you better frame rates, at lease playable rates. as per the game readme file the above procedure enables a single threaded renderer, which may improve performance or compatibility on some systems.

    haven't got anything worthwhile

I do have a bunch of coupons though.
So if anyone thinks they may buy any of these games on Steam, before March 1st you are more than welcome to them, otherwise they will just expire unused.

I already have most of them, and wont be buying anything else for a good while. Spent to much this last week
