I picked up Max Payne 3 and started that last night. I'm liking it so far. Feels like typical Max Payne. Brings back memories of my summer holidays in 2001 as an 11 year old playing it, as well as being blown away by the physics of Max Payne 3.

Also started Terraria, which is quite fun. Didn't think it would be much different to Minecraft, but it is an interesting alternative.

I'm still battling away in Day Z, but it's getting quite boring now as I don't have any friends who play it just yet, so I may wait until I have someone to play it with.

For a more relaxing approach, I got the London to Brighton route for Train Simulator 2012.

Picked up Batman: Arkham City yesterday too and got that downloading while I'm at work, so will give that a try tonight.

Just picked up L.A Noire and the first witcher along with payday since they were so cheap at the steam sale 75% off ^_^.Anyways enjoying L.A Noire and played some of the witcher and payday is ok.Also in Darksiders i'm in some castle that kind of looks like a church but there's some like giant bat/dragon thing lol.Got stuck on one of the puzzles though the one with the gears :\ can't figure out how to blow that red wall up were there's the spiky ball but it's dark so you got to hit one of the lights then that but there isn't one near by besides another but normal spiky ball that i can't reach. Can't figure that part out :|.

    FF13 on my PS3.

Im not sure what to think. On one hand, its quite linear which kinda stinks.
On the other, Im actually enjoying it quite a bit. I know many may disagree there from what Ive read elsewhere but ....

About 50 hours in now and still going.

Bah - These Steam sales are just rude. I went a bit mad last night - game here, pack there which is all well and good. But it does suck when you see something for $4.99 that you just paid $15 for a night ago

I'm new to Steam in general and never realised how quickly the prices fluctuate...

That's why I always wait for the game I want to go 75% off,if they don't and still the same price with say like the 50% discount on the last day of steam sale then I will buy it.
Got 4 games 75% off this week and all for 4.99 expect for the witcher which was 2.39 and L.A Niore for around 3 something I think.

Final Fantasy XIII - Where do I start?

    PROS:-

The Combat Mechanics (at least after about 12 hours in and they finally let go of your hand and allow you to experiment), Graphics (for a console) and 1080p CGI are some of the best ever made at that time from Square Enix. But that's where the positives end for me.

    CONS:-

What irks me is that the plot goes meandering for the longest time, most of the main characters never seem to have motivations I can relate to, so by the end of the game I just couldn't care about their conflict resolution or the "payoff".. It all seemed very superficial, with no heart in my opinion. It had the weakest story ever told in a Final Fantasy mainline series.

Lightning's (voice acted by the usually superb Laura Bailey (mass effect's Liara)) cause didn't pull me in at all. Hope was just the Squee emo kid, and Snow was the usual Japanese hobo-looking tough guy who's also the punching bag of the group.
The other two female leads (whose names escape me at this moment) were also imho unremarkable, although the one with the aussie accent was hands down the best voice acted female lead in this game.

The only main protagonist I felt the slightest connection to was Sazh (dude with the baby Chocobo in his afro) who was in the whole mess because of his little boy.
He had real motivations for doing what he did and the scenes with his son were very heart rending and emotional. He was voice acted superbly, and I was rooting for him the whole way.

Stalker - Call of Pripyat. For the 3rd time since it came out.
Next up - Fallout. Again for the 3rd time.
Played Borderlands again recently, for the first time in co-op.
A real dry spell for games of this type.
Last "new" games were Skyrim and Dead Island.
Dead Island was the most fun - especially in co-op.

Now that I'm wise to their discount stuff, I'm going to be a bit more choosy about my discounts.

But I figure compared to what I used to 'pay' - I owe them

Yes. During the sales, I always make a wishlist of what I really want.
I try not to buy anything at all untill its on a daily deal.

On the last day, if things didnt get cut cheaper, I go ahead and buy them.

I used to take advantage of all the sales prices when I first started as well. And a couple days later something goes from 25% off to 75% off LOL.

Ive only got a couple things so far this sale. SAdly, most everything thats been on dailys and flash deals I already have.

BTW, if something comes up for vote anyone wants, say so and Ill vote for it so hopefully itll get a bigger sale :)

That could be a good idea for a dedicated thread. A heads up thread where we all rally together.

(I may have been a Steam holdout, but so far I'm really enjoying the ease of use (no more flapping around with 'work arounds') and the new found 'glow' of supporting companies. It's assuaged my guilt that had been growing over the years :) I'm also more inclined to actually start and finish games )

The only downsides are that my drive is filling up quickly and I don't see why any current downloads get suspended while I play a steam game Is that normal or is there a setting I'm missing?

My paypal account is also copping a hammering, lol.
