Just played CS:GO because of the free weekend on Steam and... wow
I can safely say I'm glad I didn't buy it at the pre-order/launch reduction, as even at 33% off at the moment it's not worth it.
I described it to a friend as "CoD for hipsters". Now, don't give me any of that nonsense "ehh, but CS was around before the original CoD" - I don't care. Alone in the Dark existed in 1992, but Alan Wake is better than AitD 5. I primarily use a PS3 dualshock controller via USB using MotioninJoy. I was slightly excited when I saw that CS:GO boasted controller support as I'd enjoyed Portal 2 on PC using my controller (I find controller sticks and triggers better than keys, but mice can be better in FPS games than an analog stick). So, I started the game and, well, horizontal reticule movement was fine. Vertical however was awful. It kept jumping to the sky or ground, it was sluggish when I tried moving it, and it kept going the wrong way. So I tried using keyboard and mouse. Unbearable.
So, not only does it have the tiniest plot ever (as usual), the graphics are pretty poor. Really, it is the most underwhelming game I've played all year, and I've played NFS:Most Wanted, so that's saying a lot.

Going to play Assassins Creed 3 when it comes out on the PC on Nov, 20th... and hopefully it will run on my Windows 7 computer since I haven't updated my graphics card in a million years.

I played new Need For Speed Most Wanted and it seriously sucks! i think IGN was paid for the Review by EA and Criterion for giving it 9.0 Amazing!

IGN scores - automatically subtract 3-4 points from any given score. Especially 'big name' developer/publisher.

They are paid to shill these days. All the big sites do it. That's why the reviews are so biased and thus, untrustworthy.

I didn't like the game cause its too linear for a 2012 game, it should have been more free. I enjoyed bullet time though and the visuals are excellent. Not bad, but u gotta try hitman absolution, i'm amazed nobody talks about it here, unless u don't like violent games (not that it is that violent)

    I have downloaded:

    • Skate 2 DLC - Oliver Elementary etc.
    • Red Faction Guerrilla DLC - Mariner Valley
    • Skyrim DLC - Hearthfire

I need to find the time to get myself through these DLCs, I'm just extending the playability of all my old games, until GTA: V is released in Spring/Summer. My work (part-time as I'm a student) as given me more hours so need to find a work around

My step-brother is playing Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars

Dont know why people keep saying NFS:MW is bad,its certainly not an exceptional game out of the series , its not that bad either. Besides when was the last time PC got a Modern gen racing game? It looks absolutely stunning too, you're not gona see all its capable of on a 2GB DDR3 gpus guys. Although it mostly depends on you're CPU and that could explain the problems everyone is having.

    .

The linear lends to the 'movie style' of the game.

Tbh, I'd rather watch a movie and play a game and not just play a movie, but I consider these 'movie games' to be once through games for the most part.

It's NFS. There is always an element of disappointment and subsequent bagging afterwards.

    Happens with most NFS releases.
