Im curious what those think who've played Remember Me as well.

From my own research on it, it seems the most common opinion is that:
    1) The game is no where near as bad as reviews made it seem. A bit rough around the edges, but a decent and enjoyable game.
    2) Very short and not worth full price. but worth playing if you get it for a good price.

But, as I've never played it I don't know either. just seems to be the most common responses I'm seeing.

    Is Remember Me any good?
Its not...I have not tried it yet. But, my friend did.
Thanks for the post but I don't consider the "my friend" statement a valid confirmation.

That's like me posting Windows is bad because my friend doesn't get it

That's pretty much what I've heard too. Still the game has garnered a lot of buzz, for better or worse.

Playing Civilization 4, with the Rise of Mankind: A New Dawn mod. It's pretty much a huge update to the latest expansion, Beyond The Sword ("BTS"), and improves on it a lot without turning it into a new game (like some other mods do).

    See awesome new features like:
    - advanced diplomacy
    - inclusion of the extremely customizable BUG mod options menu
    - landmarks, overall way better personalisation of maps - worlds don't feel like generic templates anymore
    - tons more random events

It's like the difference between a playable beta (the original vanilla BTS game) and a fully-patched mature release (the mod).

My beef with the latest game in the series, Civilization 5? This guy explains it pretty well - warning, absolutely huge walls of text! Civ5: What Went Wrong?

In a nutshell, trying to go to a one-unit-per-tile ("UPT") limit broke the game, and the AI in Civ5 is exploitable is several easy ways that it doesn't make the game fun anymore. But why go back to Civ4 especially if you hated the infinite stacks of doom style armies? Actually, using the BUG mod options, you can set the limit for how many (military) units per tile. For example, set it to merely 1 UPT = wa-la, no more insane huge stacks - Civ5 style armies without Civ5's weaknesses. Generally though the advise is to set the limit to at least 2 UPT because it makes maneuvering units in cramped quarters more bearable. Not to mention Civ5's AI absolutely suck at mimicking intelligence, Civ4's diplomacy is still the best and this mod only improves on it.

There are a couple of other high profile Civ4 mods, but they're more like TCs (Total Conversions) imho - Rise of Mankind: A New Dawn is your best bet if you want to enjoy an improved but still recogniseable Civ game.

As a long-time gamer there have been so many games I played it's hard pressed to name favourites, but modded Civ4 definitely makes the shortlist.

Anyone else play Last of Us yet?

So far its very good. But I loved the Uncharted games too, also made by Naughty Dog.
Sadly think I'm nearing the end

    Mars: War Logs

Took a chance on Mars: War Logs. The press killed it, particularly for the voice acting, but it now appears that has now been patched. Yeah, it really was bad. Haven’t had a chance to test it out yet as I’m at Barnes & Noble writing this. But being that it’s a Steam based game it should be patched by the time I launch it later on. Patch was just released today.

Anyway, there are a few issues with the game such as wonky controls at times; the graphics aren’t that great, and I’ve already mentioned voice acting.

Outside of that I think it’s fairly good, the story seems to be developing pretty good, and the combat can be fun, provided some of the controls mapped keys you set for quick actions act as they should.

I write a small review on it once I finish it, but for 13 bucks, its not bad. Even at its full price of 19 bucks, I can’t say it would have been a waste. Well see once I finish it though…

Anyway... Mars: War Logs | Spiders

This is a video from the producers who also explain what they are trying to do with the game: Mars: War Logs on Steam

I just picked up Mars Wars logs on sale a couple days ago. Haven't played it much (couple hrs) because Im playing Last of Us, but what I seen looked pretty interesting.

Apparently, they must have fixed the voice acting. Although nothing amazing, it wasn't horrid either. I would say average/passable.
Then again, Im not too far into it yet but will start it next after Im done with LoA.

That or my opinion of OK and unbearable differs drastically.

Well I actually thought the voice acting was horrendous, and I'm pretty forgiving

That said, I do think the game is pretty good for the sale price. I was pretty close to trying it out at 19 bucks anyway, but when it went on sale for 13, it was a done deal for me.

It's definitely worth the 13. I'd even say I wouldn't have been too upset at 19 for what I've seen thus far.

BTW I'm at level 12 now and I'm not even sure I'm halfway through yet.
