I stopped buying Rockstar products after GTA4 released.
If rockstar had had the balls to say "dont bother playing this on a dual core" "it requires quad core".
then I would probably still respect them, I would have just said "Ok, hardware is the issue".

But they tried to say Dual core chips were the min requirement, which made me feel like their port back from console to PC was trash.

Its been long enough now, I'll probably start buying their products when gta5 releases.

Geez, you say gta4 runs like crap even on an x4 640 chip Miguel? Oww, Rockstar fail X_x.

LA Noire Windows 7 Lag Sorted!!

L.A NOIRE with L.A.G lag? Then you are going to fall in loooove with me! Because I found a way to make it playable! I tried all the fixs I could find and none of them worked.
Part of what's wrong is that newer computers have the dual core thing. It is possible to set it to single thread but this does not work for WINDOWS 7.

The effect is that the screen has too much movement and everything slows down. Someone suggested facing the mouse downwards to reduce movement, but how could you see what you were playing? lol. But then I got one of my eureka moments -- what had to be done to achieve this reduction of movement was to take the game out of full screen and then minimize this window enough to make it quicker, and I figured how to do that:-
    1. Click on the Launcher
    2. Click on 'Options'
    3. At the end there is a command line which you click your cursor into, and type '-windowed' but without the quotes.
    4. Click 'OK'
    5. Click 'Launch'
    6. Click 'Options'
    7. Click 'Display'
    8. Click 'Graphics' and change 'Display Mode' to 800x600x60 by clicking on the numbers.
    9. Click 'Apply'
When you play the game now you will have a smaller screen, but all that inertia making slowness lag will have disappeared, and you will at last start to have fun with it!! If you wish you can move the brightness slider (which you find in 'Display') up a little because of the smaller screen.

The great thing also is that THIS WORKS WITH A LOT OF OLDER GAMES that won't play properly on WINDOWS 7. i.e I did something similar with my older Nancy Drew games, some of which wouldn't even work on my older XP WINDOWS computer.

I have WINDOWS 7, 32 bit and Radion 4200 and downloaded the full game from Steam. I also downloaded Tomb Raider, which worked perfectly without having to do any tweaks or fixes. So it is wrong to say LA NOIRE doesn't work because your computer is not new enough - it is because it is an older game.
