    Spider Solitaire goes too fast

Playing Spider Solitaire recently I found that the game had speeded up. The deals were displayed instantaneously, which makes it easy to deal twice without realising it. The only change I remember is that I had installed Java VM for a game that required it. That has now been uninstalled, although the Windows Games problem (it is the same with the other card games) remains.

    Mouse?

A double click by the mouse will cause it to skip the motion of dealing. If the double click on your mouse is set to quick, that would be one explanation. Check your mouse settings.

"Display animations" in options is on.

Mouse speed is as it always was.

All the Windows card games are affected in the same way.

I always just reboot the computer when that happens. It has worked for me in the past.

I can't say it will or won't work for you.

Rebooting doesn't help. The "Display Animations" checkbox under "Options" is checked but greyed out, so I couldn't change it if I wanted to. It does seem odd, though. Apart from the lack of animation (or superfast animation), the fireworks don't appear after a win.

    Try This

In the control panel select porgrams and features. In that window select "Turn Windows Features On or Off". Uncheck games and let it uninstall the games. Reboot, go through the same procedure after the boot but this time check the games box. It should put them all back. Reboot and check to see if that helped.

I'm having the same issues as posted at the start of this thread. All was well until a few days ago. I've followed all the suggestions shown above, but the problems still persist. Did Orpheus2000 ever get the problem resolved? This is very discouraging. FYI - On Sept 23 I did a massive Windows Update. Might that have caused this change? Thanks for any help provided.

Adjust the Visual Appearance /Performance options in Perfromance Information and Tools for best appearance; this will bring back the normal effects
I think that sometimes updates must change this since this problem affected me after one of the big monthly updates.
