Is there an Easy way to Play PC Games with Video and Audio on TV??

Ok So I bought an Nvidia 570gtx and I am able to have both audio and sound to play on my TV as a second monitor. However to do this I have to go into windows 7 screen resolution screen and duplicate the displays though ones 1900x1200 and the Tv is 1920x1080 causing the PC screen to look funky but I can live with it to launch the games.

I than have to go into the sound properties and set the default for the system to the HDMI cable and I can play my games on the TV like I want. (about 30 feet away)

When done I have to come back and undue each setting to get control back to my PC.
I know I must be doing it the hard way! Is there an easier way (Script) or whatnot that can do the same thing for me in an instant?

Set it to extended mode instead of clone mode, that way both can be run at their respective resolutions. Also in the Windows display properties set the TV as the primary display device and then the game will run on it only.

Short of something like a batch file to do it for you (not idea how to write one or if it would work), not that I'm aware of. Someone else might have an idea.

once you set audio to hdmi as default it stays as default. once you disconnect hdmi sound comes from pc speakers. please confirm

press windows-key (the key with flag mostly next to left alt-key) and type p. so press winkey-p both together and select "projector only"

    still problem?

wow never knew the Flag+P worked like that lol thanks, however it seems backwards when I say PC only the local monitor shuts off and the HDTV works and when I do projector only the local pc works. The sound switches perfectly though that's a big relief.

Just need to figure out the video part now it seems..

please explain again what the problem is... don't understand

is it a laptop or desktop? if laptop: Set "lid close action" to "do nothing" so no sleep mode. And simply close the lid. this will blank the laptopscreen and resolution will be fine on tv (even when you do "clone display"). When you open lid again the tv will inherit the laptop resolution

Do I understand correctly that "projector only" option activates the display on pc. "local montior" option activates display on tv?

So it's just the other way around as what you expected? Set you right "local monitor" as primary output device in control panel. It's somewhere where you change screen resolution

Sorry been playing with settings. first I have a desktop i7 2600 3.4 with Nvidia 570gtx

yes when I hit Flag+P Projector Only is my Local Monitor 1900x1200 and computer Only is my HDTV 1920x1080 setup I set my defualt to the second display tv than it puts my main desktop on that and I dont want that. I think its my GPU port numbering causing the issue I dunno though.
