According to EA forums and the Battlelog news comments, this patch is causing all sorts of problems. Most notably
--black screens (ironic since they say it fixes black screens, but many have never seen one)
--crashes 20-30 seconds into games.
I'm a bit frustrated with BF3 at present. They did something over the weekend which broke access to battlelog.battlefield.com for many ISP's around the world. I was down for 3 days before they got it fixed. I lost connection early Saturday morning and didn't get it back until 4pm Monday. Without hitting battlelog, you cannot actually startup a multiplayer game or see a server list to play on. what other changes would you like to see in next patch?
i would like: - squad voip - in-game! not through battlelog or sonar or anywhere else, but IN-GAME!
- colour blind mode - just like in BC2 - that orange and green look way too similar to me (and a lot of other folks)
- fiddly bipod need improving!

I think everyone want's a good VoIP system built-in.
A few of my buddies and I use a mumble server, but it's not open to the public...so we can only talk to each other and not anybody else on our team. For a game based on teamwork, they really seemed to have really limited the experience with this decision. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Self-Built in July 2009 OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU Intel Q9550 2.83Ghz OC'd to 3.40Ghz Motherboard Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R rev. 1.1, F12 BIOS Memory 8GB G.Skill PI DDR2-800, 4-4-4-12 timings Graphics Card EVGA 1280MB Nvidia GeForce GTX570 Sound Card Realtek ALC899A 8 channel onboard audio Monitor(s) Displays 23" Acer x233H Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard ABS M1 Mechanical Mouse Logitech G9 Laser Mouse PSU Corsair 620HX modular Case Antec P182 Cooling stock Hard Drives Intel X25-M 80GB Gen 2 SSD

i've just tried the patch.
the first time i tried to connect to a server, it failed and i got an error message.
so i rebooted, tried again and i played five minutes without problems. seems a bit smoother too.
however, ymmv! | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number mickey megabyte 1234 OS ultimate 64 sp1 CPU i5 2500K 3.3@4.2GHz Motherboard MSI P67A-GD53 Memory 8 gigs GSkill Ripjaws 1600 Graphics Card amd hd6950 Sound Card creative x-fi gamer Monitor(s) Displays samsung 24" Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard saitek eclipse ii Mouse logitech g3 PSU antec 550 Case antec three hundred Cooling i'm a cooling fan Hard Drives ocz vertex 2e 60 gig, samsung f3 1tb, buffalo 2tb ext Internet Speed about 4 Mbps Other Info i love win7 |

anyone know where the patch gets downloaded to?
i want to save it so i don't have to re-download it in case of possible future reinstall.
there's an update/patch folder in the main game folder, but i don't think it's in there.
or, maybe it doesn't get downloaded as an .exe file? | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number mickey megabyte 1234 OS ultimate 64 sp1 CPU i5 2500K 3.3@4.2GHz Motherboard MSI P67A-GD53 Memory 8 gigs GSkill Ripjaws 1600 Graphics Card amd hd6950 Sound Card creative x-fi gamer Monitor(s) Displays samsung 24" Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard saitek eclipse ii Mouse logitech g3 PSU antec 550 Case antec three hundred Cooling i'm a cooling fan Hard Drives ocz vertex 2e 60 gig, samsung f3 1tb, buffalo 2tb ext Internet Speed about 4 Mbps Other Info i love win7 BF3 patches - client and server problems?
