I was about level 45 when I finished the main quest, and things changed for me when I did, at least initially. I was kind of bummed. It really meant the game was "over". I still had a lot of quests and a lot of places to explore, but without the drive of the main quest always being there for me the game lost some of it's draw.

As with previous versions, I always saved the main quest. I'd do one part of it ever few days, saving the finale till I had finished 90% or more of the rest of the game. This time, the last three parts to the main quest run together like a movie and you almost can't help but finish them all at once. So I ended up finishing the main quest a bit earlier than I wanted. And that was still at level 45!

I still had the theive's guild to go though and that's a fairly extensive quest line...

If you don't want to "accidentally" finish the main quest too early...
[tiny tiny spoiler below. Really, very small]

If you don't want to "accidentally" finish the main quest too early. When You get to the part where you are asked or it is suggested that you call a dragon down to the castle in whiterun, don't. That starts a high speed run through to the end of the main quest.

Go for being one,the only side effect is no sleeping bonus, but you get awesome powers and are imune to any disease. So there isnt a bad part...well there wasnt for me.

And yeah, the cure you will find when you near the end of the companion quists, cant say how but it is pretty freaken cool

Hehe, go for it It's best to do this when you are lower level, being a werewolf seems more fun then, if your too high a level then wolfing out gets you killed in battle more

It also gets you into the Dark Brotherhood quest line if you wish (Though there may be other ways)

I've not regretted it at all, and yes you can cure yourself later on but I've not bothered. You get some additional funny comments from guards now and then. It's nothing incredibly special but it is definitely a little additional aspect of the game to experience...

[Edit] Oh yeah the sleeping bonus hehe, I never did take advantage of that even before.. who has time for sleep?!?! [/Edit]

yes, there's some info about a cure in the link i gave you (i don't want to quote it here, because of spoilers).

haven't tried it myself, as i enjoy howling at the moon and having hairy palms.

i thought the guards were commenting about my furry ears because i was a cat, but no, it's due to my lycanthropy.

I have the Lover’s stone perk so I haven't had the sleeping bonus for quite sometime and I haven't lost a thing.

That said, I decided against the Werewolf thing but may reconsider it if for no other reason than doing something different.

Anyway I've pretty much put Skyrim on the shelf as there's really nothing else for me to do after 370+ hours of play at level 61.
