So... CoD MW3 a flop or?

Well, by the little I have seen of this game, I am getting sadder by the minute. In my opinion, this game is even faster paced than MW2 (which was already fast). I feel like they pushed you to the choke points in a hurry yet, they want you to find Mission Intel bits. The game is pretty Linear and even though you have some choices, they seem to guide you or take you by the hand.

Also, I don't like the fact that at some point you need to follow the other guys instead of making your own decisions but, being said that, BF3 is even worse at doing this.

Also, I did like the Solo Missions of MW2 even if they were predictable and the ones from MW3 are just pure nonsense.

Again, I have only watched my friend playing for like 10 to 20 minutes at a time and I did a few Solo Missions on my own.

I think I am going to wait for it to get to the Bargain Bin before I try the Campaign and the Solo missions myself.

I do not play Online or Multiplayer so I am just basing my opinions on the Solo Missions and Campaign.

I do like the ergonomics of the weapons, they seem a lot better than those from BF3. The graphics are solid as well but perhaps a little to Black and White-ish? I am sure they wanted to make some point with it but I just did not get it.

    What say you?

I enjoyed the campaign and co-op (co-op missions and survival mode) are a blast. Once again campaign is too short (about 5 hours on normal). Story takes off where MW2 left off. I won't go into specifics for spoiler reasons.

As far as weapon play, I agree it is far less clunky then BF3, much smoother.

When I purchased this game I knew going in that I would be playing MP and I am enjoying that as well although it is very sad that hacks are already abundant there. If I had only been playing solo then there is no way I would pay full price so my advice would be definitely wait until there is a significant price drop.

Since I got both BF3 and MW3 I would rate each as such - single player/campaign goes to MW3,
multiplayer goes to BF3 and it's not even close, co-op is a draw I enjoyed both!

I think the COD and BF series focused on the Multi-player functions of the game and short changed the people who like the solo campaigns. I've read all the reviews of BF3 and CoD MW3 and they all pretty much read the same.

Great for people who like to listen to 14 yr olds screaming about how they just Pwned you by sniping your spawn point, lousy for people who prefer to play by themselves in relative peace and quiet.

call of duty mw games have never really been as big on the PC as with consoles. Dont get me wrong i got them on the PC but the console market is obviously bigger. hence why we only get a poorly ported version.

Battlefield on the other hand was built from the ground up for the PC and it works. Its massively different from BF2, which cant be said for COD, every one is the same, just with different maps, perks and the odd twist, its more an expansion pack than a new game.

Ive avoided mw3, ill perhaps pick it up when its cheap just to play the single player.

EA Games/Dice is somewhat known for making the BF games more intuned with Multiplayer. I honestly wished they let you gain ranks/medals in singleplayer and had better map options. It was boring as hell.

I rented mw3 for a console because I won't buy it for the PC when I know that it's probably going to be a flop. Here's my opinion the single player campaign as you said is extremely fast paced in fact it's so fast paced that I was done in one sitting (I was sick that day so nothing else to do) the multiplayer was what they were mainly focused on so if your not playing multiplayer I recommend that you buy it used or wait for it to get cheap. Also they have call of duty: Elite and that'll give you some great tips on how to use a certain weapon to it's full potential, also Elite gives you an in depth view of all the maps and weaponry, also it'll recommend class setups for certain play styles. But I feel like I'm rambling too much so bottom line is: if your hoping the single player campaign is enough for you then you aren't going to be very pleased with this game.

I think I did try Mass Effect for a bit and didn't like the ergonomics of their weapons but I did like where the plot was going with it... a little to much time with nothing to do but it was the beginning of the game so it was ok. This is another game I may try when it hits the bargain bin.

I wrote to Ubisoft, Activision and EA at some point in time (like 4 or 5 years ago) and told them both that if they wanted less piracy, they needed to make it more challenging, more tactical and more open world and they not only needed to charge a lot less for their Solo Campaign games but they also needed to have better ports. I also recommend they start the game at 14.95 to 19.95 and if you wanted to jump to MP to charge the other 14.95 to 19.95 but we all know how far that went with them.

Ubisoft pretty much destroyed the Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six series and now, the same fate will happen with the MW and BF series... it is a crying shame because that is the only Genre that I like playing.

well if you want a great game to play that's realistic and is also a free roaming game you can pick up ARMA 2 it's not for some people but trust me it's a great game it is an FPS but it's also a military simulator. Just look it up on steam and it'll tell you alot of info about the game and also they have several expansions with different storylines in all of them and in just the first "vanilla" game they have over I think it's around 800 vehicles in total. Also it's now owned by ubisoft so you don't have to worry about them ruining it. Lastly the third expansions going to come out sometime in 2012.

Tried ARMA and also Red River but those are the opposite of what I am looking for, WAY to many buttons and crap that by the time you are ready to learn all the things you need to do to fire the first bullet you are already dead.
