Problem in starting cs 1.6

I have compaq laptop presariocq61-408tx.320gb hdd,2gbram,intel dual core prosser,512 mb nvidiageforce103 graphis.I connot run counter strike 1.6 in my pc.when i click on the icon of the game it was not responding.i try it in compability mode but nothing happen.PIEASSSSSSSSSSSSEEEEEE HELP ME.

Its a very old game, so compatibility maybe an issue. Have you updated the game via steam?
Try the steam/valve forums, I'm sure there's a solution/patch out there

Win 7 premium 64bit/Win Pro XP 32bit /Ubuntu 12.04
 
 


try running the game under compatibly under win98mode with admin rights and yeah i know you tried this already but im unsure but i think steam forums would help more since its a valve game and steam is owned by valve anyways if anyone else has an idea im sure they could help a bit more then i can sorry about that :/
