Problem with GTA IV on Windows 7 64 bit

Ok, I have read online that the game works purfectly when ran through compatibility with windows XP SP2, or windows Vista SP1. I have tried everything including administrative mode, compatibility with any OS, modifying the registry, BUT NOTHING WORKS!!!!

    I'm running these specs:
    3.0GHz Dual core processor
    8GB ram
    2GB Video graphics
    Windows 7 Professional x64.

I can open up the social club sign in screen, but after I sign in, the game doesn't even start up. I have posted the video on youtube, and you can see for yourself. THIS IS AGGRAVATING!!!!

    Watch the video here:
GTA IV won't work on windows 7 64-bit OS. - YouTube

I'm not lying about this issue. There are no errors, and it has ran on windows 7 x32 on my old PC, but graphics will not work right. Please help!!!

You shouldnt need to do any tweaks, compatability mode etc for GTA to run on a x64 system. Mine has always run fine without doing anything.
if you have the retail disc version, you may however, need to download and apply the latest patch before playing it.

The little disc icon that spins, just before it stops repsonding is usually the SecuRom check.
Normally, you never see it unless theres a issue.
So I believe the problem is related to that somehow.

First of all, where did you get the game? Retail disc etc?

Im fairly certain on Digital and retial you need a internet connection to activate. Not sure if the disc is needed to play though.

But, when you installed the game, the last thing it does before you see the Social Club login is activate the game.
Did you see any message about failing or exceeding activation count?

If it has not activated due to to many activations, you could just download the revoke tool.
Run it on your OLD PC, then try again on the new one.

I got the game straight from Walmart that was on sale. This OS is a fresh install and. Nothing should be a problem. I have deactivated the game on my old computer and activated the game online on the new one. I have installed the latest patch for GTA IV, but it doesn't seem to help. I'll reinstall the game again without the patch to see what happens after that. I read online and people said they had no problems with 64 bit OS. I just don't know why it's still not working.

I did the activation and it didn't say anything. It just activated online like it is supposed to. Had no issues with activation.

Im not sure myself. Never seen it happen before to be totally honest, but it shouldnt be due to the OS itself.

What happens if you just don't sign into Social Club and try to launch the game offline?

It does the same either way. I can't use my old computer anymore because I don't have the graphics card in the old one anymore. I'm going to see if uninstalling it, finishing updates, and reinstall the game to see what happens.

Do you have the .NETFRAMEWORK 3.5 and latest directX redistributable update installed?

I have all updates installed and it still won't work. Is it because I have the game installed in "Program Files (x86)" folder?

I'm going to see if I can get windows XP SP3 x32 installed on a virtual machine to see if I can play the game there. If it is possible, then I might use it instead.

ok, I tried, but it gave me an error on that. I even installed all the stuff you told me to install, but still no luck. It still won't work. Nothing won't work on this PC. I even tried everything. I'm going to see if I take this hard drive out of my old PC, putting it in the new system, keep it as 32 bit, and see what happens when running the game. I hope it all works from there.

I got 32 bit working, and the game launches like before, but with everything on low, I get 12 FPS. I don't get it though. Running a 32 bit OS with a 3.0 GHz processor, 8GB ram, 2GB video graphics, and the thing is still choppy. I even did default, but everything is worse with default.

Can someone explain to me how to get that fixed?
