Counter Strike 1.6 Ping Spikes

Hi,

I recently restart to play counter strike and i'm having some ping spike. When I shoot I got a delay. My rate are correctly set. I'm a very old player and it's the first time it happen to me. My ping go to 60-80 every 2-3 seconds.

I try to play in compatibility mode but it dosen't work. I reformate my PC but the problem still persist.

If you have any idea of what can be the problem please post here!!

sorry for my bad english..

A 60-80ms ping is not actually that high. 150+ is what I'd consider towards the higher end.

Is the slowing down/pausing just related to cs or other online games as well?

I know 60-80 ping can look low but it's very hard to shoot since I got a delay.... The second & third bullet go anywere and it's very hard to spray.

Plus, everybody on the server see me spiking a lot.

I try to play Counter Strike Source and I had no problem..
