No options menu on Da sims !

Hello! I just installed Da sims on a HP pavillion dv5 laptop with Intel Core i5 processor & 4g ram with windows 7.
The game itself runs rather fine, but the options on the upper part of the screen (build, create family, demolish...) are oddly GONE.

So, I installed the same game on my PC (wich runs on win XP) and it works perfectly, with th eproper options on the screen´s upper section.

Here´s a pic o´da hood on the game installed on the win xp PC, you can see the options:

And here´s n the laptop, the options are missing!

What can I do to solve this? THANKS IN ADVANCE!
