I think this issues falls under general mainly because I don't know where else to put it. If it should be moved, please let me know and I will.
For the last few months I have been unable to play any games on my pc. we got this pc about 3 years ago. I have some games that I put on it and they worked great. I could play for hours with no issues. over the last few months now, I am unable to play these games. The game will start and I can get into it but it is like the system is too stressed. The games gets choppy and then freezes.
I do not have a separate graphics card. I can watch movies and do anything else on the pc, it is just when I am trying to play a game.
I have tried many things including turning off everything I can to eliminate stuff running int eh background, turning off most of the stuff like search indexing, defragging, system clean up, I have run various 3rd party checkers (not reg cleaners). Frankly I can't think of what I havn't done yet short of reinstalling windows.
I was going to do a system restore, but my restore points only go back about 30 days. I need at least 6 months.
Does anyone here have any ideas as to what may be going wrong or how I can fix it?
