Windows 7 - Zoo Tycoon 2 won't run on Windows 7 Dell

The game was working when I first got the computer but stopped after downloading minecraft. Since then I have deleted minecraft and all of its components. I tried restoring the system previous to its download, but it wouldn't work because of an error.

Whenever I tried to run ZT2 a dialogue box popped up saying that the color scheme wasn't compatible. I don't have pictures posted, but let me know if it may be valid. I think it is invalid but I mentioning it to specify what I have done.

Anyway, I messed with the color scheme several times in case it was the problem changing it back and forth between 16bit and 32bit. Nothing worked. I changed the graphics setting to windows basic and reinstalled the game. Nothing worked.

There were no other dialogue boxes except for the color scheme one, though it did say that it would change to windows basic and change back automatically. This had never happened when the game was actually working.

However I have searched simiar issues with running Zoo Tycoon 2 on Windows 7 including changing personalization of the game to "administrator" and installing a patch that would clear up issues with ram. These are in other posted threads concerning zoo tycoon 2. Please not that these efforts are not based on any computer dialogue.

I've exhausted all the possibilities I can think of and would really appretiate any kind of help available.
