Oblivion won't uninstall, Disk won't read

I've been having trouble with Oblivion for awhile now and wanted to reinstall. The game used to run fine, but recently the disc was having trouble being read and now will not register with my computer at all. This issue is unique to my computer (the disc works fine for others) and my other games are running in top shape.

What's more, I cannot uninstall the game from my computer using the prompt in the loading menu, as I get an error message saying "Oblivion Launcher cannot find the uninstall program. Run Setup.exe on the install disc to uninstall." The Add/Remove programs in my control panel does nothing, though I can still run uninstallation of the official added content (Orrery, Vile Lair, etc.). I am currently running no mods on Oblivion.

I planned to use Revo Uninstaller Pro, but my free 30 days has run out and I can't afford the program.

So, bigger and brighter minds than mine, how does one uninstall a program that cannot be uninstalled using a disc that cannot be read? Any ideas would be appreciated. Many thanks!

    Hello sud,

It is good you know about Revo. Uninstall Revo trail. You can install the free version (not the trial) and use it to remove it: Download Revo Uninstaller Freeware - Free and Full Download - Uninstall software, remove programs, solve uninstall problems

After that, let me know how it goes

Well, I tried the Revo Freeware. Had to run it in Administrator mode, as it wouldn't register Oblivion otherwise. The game is off my computer, apparently, but the disc still isn't working. I've uninstalled all of the plugins as well, but still no-go. It's probably some shard of data left on my registry... Problem's half solved, though!

Well, the best registry cleaner I know of is Ccleaner free, but Be very very careful if you choose to use this program! While i spit on registry cleaners for many reasons, you might use it to look for ONLY left over oblivion files and information and see if you can clean them out. Don't remove anything else! Be very careful, as this can royally mess with your computer if you clean the wrong thing.

Oh, I am bitterly aware of the evils of registry cleaners. I already have CCleaner, so I ran a registry search for Oblivion files and found one. It's been deleted, but my computer still doesn't register the Oblivion disc. I'm not sure what else the issue could be, if not leftover code in the registry. Any ideas?
By the by, I really appreciate the help so far. You're awesome and thank you!

    No problem sud,

Perhaps look around Ccleaner a bit more and see if you can't spot some more pieces. I am not entirely sure what you could do, though. Someone else may know a trick, but I've come to my limit. Do a search for your whole computer, and look up oblivion, elder scrolls, etc and see if there are any files remaining. Other than that, I can't say
