How to put the old Doom games back on your computer

I haven't found a game I like in 7 years. The last one was Quake 4. I have all the Doom, Quake, Unreal etc. games that I would like to play again. I have plenty of removable hard drives and DOS 6.22 which might not even work but the oldest OS I have is ME so does anyone know how I can play these old DOS and 3.1 windows games?

I take it you have tried installing in compatibility mode?

If so... what about Virtual XP mode?

For DOOM you can use a lil proggy called DosBox (A DOS emulator) or GZDoom (A Doom source port wich use your original doom .wad files).

Unreal should install and play just fine (just make sure to update the game)

The last time i tried to play Quake gave me an error, but if i find the disk i'll give it another try.

Any further questions just let me know.

install the game in a seperate folder and the directx files need to go into windows/system folder, i got it working with windows vista so seeing as the OS is identical, it should work with windows 7, see this thread from vista forums for info
