    Discuss Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning

So I'm pretty interested to hear your opinions on this little RPG. And I say little because I've played for about an hour now, and it seems fun at first. It gets a little dull too fast, and doesn't seem all that engaging to me. Perhaps I shouldn't have started playing on Normal.

The UI is - OMG cans u believes it!- console-ish, but no messed up, luckily. The skill trees were confusing at first glance untilI saw it actually goes upwards, not downwards lol. Graphics being somewhat mediocre (at least on my poor little rig), the music is engaging but not too imaginative. I've been scouring YouTube for titles from the soundtrack, wondering if it's worth buying - problem is, I never know with games until I actually get the soundtrack itself.
Some voiceovers are just too funny to be serious, but gameplay-wise, it's pretty good. I like the fact that ranged attacks are auto-targeted for a change. Haven't really tried anything that includes magic or rogue skills like lockpicking, as I usually do the first playthough as a traditional warrior (shield+blade) and literally avoid any skills that aren't traditional.

I've only done the initial main quest and went through all the sidequests in the first settlement, so I wouldn't know much about the story either (and wouldn't want to get spoiled anyway *hint hint*) but so far, the main plot around the Well of Souls sounded a bit silly to me.

The game is pretty awesome. i like everything about it, except when your in reckoning mode and you have to press stuff for more xp. the game play is solid, i love the graphics and i am ENJOYING the hell out of the blacksmithing system. another thing i like about the game is the loot, alot of people don't know this about me but i am a loot whore. i love finding stuff on deceased characters and chests. the story line cheesy at first, but it plays out nicely. im still in trying to finish everything i can in the first map area. i went to the klurikon for a main quest but went right back.

Oh, yeah, the reckoning mode is fun, the button mashing bonus XP too, it's just too bad it shuts down after you do it to one enemy. Bleh, I can not has rampage! xD

I went traditionally, first race (forgot the name) a simple human, warrior. I ended up having to uninstall it due to some partition problems, but will start to play it again soon enough.

In regards to other RPGs, it looks more indie, which just might make it more interesting. Can't really compare it with any other game so far.

You should be. It also has tons of weapon/armor for warrior, rouge, mage types. ANYTHING in between really, its got crafting systems for blacksmith, alchemy, and sagecraft.
