Windows 7: Diablo 2

as anyone who knows, diablo 2 is an old game, i figured there would be compadibility errors. When i run it, i get an access violation error, i got a screen shot, posted below. The game never starts. It goes to a black screen like its going to start, than that error pops up and the game crashes

are you using 64bit, by chance? it's said to be confirmed "working" on 64, and i have played it, without issue on 32bit.

have you tried the usual stuff? reinstalling the game, updating drivers, etc?
also fill out your system specs, it will probably help with diagnosing your problem.
