    Fallout 3 has stopped working

I have just bought Fallout 3 for my PC. I manage to get to the main menu but when I press "New Game" it loads for a few seconds and then crashes. I have tried changing my graphics and compatability settings as well as downloading the latest patches but nothing seems to be working.

    Specs:

Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit
    System Manufacturer: Toshiba
    System Model: Satellite C660-21Q

    Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU P6100 @ 2.00GHz 2.00GHz
Installed memory (RAM): 6.00 GB (5.80GB usable)
Graphics Card: Intel HD Graphics (I think)

If you could help me find a solution, that would be great.

    Thanks.

EDIT: I also posted my specs on several other websites before buying the game, just to be sure, and they all said my game would work fine on low-medium settings. :/

    hi,
have you tried to re-install the game?

The problem could also be your Intel HD Integrated Graphics. It is comparable with a low-range graphics card. Try setting all graphics settings to the lowest possible...

I'm reinstalling the game now, I'll post back in a bit. I had a feeling the Intel HD Graphics would be the cause of the problem.

I'm have helped people with this problem before. It should have something to do with a .dll file you have to download. I don't know the exact one right now.

With or without the patches fallout 3 is by far the buggiest and one of the most boring and lamest game I've ever played in my entire life.

Sorry but it just had to be said.

I tried reinstalling, didn't work. I also tried installing it on several other computers, didn't work.

I've found a video on that .dll thing, I'll try that out.

Also: I have several other PC games that work perfectly well, including Team Fortress 2, Portal 2, Sims 3 and Fallout: New Vegas.

Fallout 3 is just buggy because they didn't bother fixing the problems, apparently. And I doubt there'd be an "unnofficial patch" for Fallout 3 either.

There used to a folder permission problem when FO3 tried accessing to write a save file, it froze.

    Me ages ago said:
I took ownership of the C:\Users\*YOURNAME*\Documents\My Games\Fallout3 folder and gave my username full read/write privileges. I Started a new game and it was past the hang
