    Unreal Tournament 2004

Hi all, I could need some help with the problem im having with this game.
Sometimes I like to play this, and when my old pc died, I decided to buy a new cool pc( I added the specs in) that is fast enough for this game and maybe others.
When I got my pc I installed the game and noticed some weird lag with fps but I didnt mind it, it was all playable still. But after a while it started to lag more and more and now it has become almost unplayable. Problem is that FPS ingame is very low, even compared to what it used to be on my ancient system. I could do with constant low fps, but it will make huge drops when moving character, looking around with mouse and fighting in close combat. It's not enough, after playin about 30 minutes I can hear my pc suffering, it begins making this noise like its under heavy stress.
Lately, also it has happened that during gaming, keyboard and mouse will become unresponsive(power light goes off from mouse/kb) for few seconds - screen will freeze for few seconds after this, and then when it comes back my character keeps walking to one direction.
Clearly something is wrong, my system seems very unresponsive and laggy on other areas as well.
I know I have installed Avast! and MWbytes antimalware, and I run them regularly but yet to find any abnormalities
Also I have made fresh install of the game UT2004 so there would be no conflicting add-ons that could cause this, but the problem remains..

One would like to think that this system I have would be good enough to run a game from 2004
So, I'm obviously quite a noob when it comes to tech stuff, but maybe someone could help me with all, how to go with this. Maybe check some things, the pc has still warrant left, but I am not sure whether it is hardware or software which is faulty.
. Thanks in advance guys, this is important for me :)

    It might be over-heating.

Did you update all drivers to latest?

Edit: Does the PC only do this when playing games?

Right then. You say you have a new system. If this has a on board GFX card this may be the problem as on board chips are not as good as they state they are. Maybe trying to lower your screen size may help and lower the details on the game found in settings and display.

Could you leave a full spec of your new system. I'm using a Ipad and it's not showing yours.

should lhave no problems at all i see in your specs that you have a gtx 560 and a i7 2600K @ 3.40GHz Sandy Bridge. Make sure your case is getting proper ventilation and reinstall your drivers. Uninstall them then run driver sweeper and get rid of all your nvdia drivers and then restart and install your nvdia drivers. Also give us your temps when idle and under load of the gpu and cpu if you can. They might be over heating which would cause the lag and make sure everything is set up properly in your case like all the fans are working and what not.

First of all, I'm sorry for replying in old thread. For certain reasons, I was not able to reach this pc for almost a month. Back in business now.

    1. off
I started the Intelliburn test. Yes, obviously it IS overheating. The idle temps are as shown =

I ran the Intelliburn test, it only ran like 15 seconds when I look into HWinfo, and all Core temps had jumped into about 75 degress or more! I panicked and quickly stopped the test. What might cause this?

Malwarebytes test will give me A malware warning when I tried to install the Furmark test from link provided by James7679. I dare not to continue
I will run with Prime95 tomorrow since it takes 2 hours to finish, I'll be back with more updates.

How exactly to uninstall and reinstall all drivers? Do I run Drive Sweeper first?
James7679 - I bought the system ready from Tietokonekauppa.fi - miltei kaikkea, ainakin melkein!
Would it be because of too much junk I have installed and uninstalled? If I format all and reinstall system- how do I go with my install of Win7 since they didnt give me a CD version? Do I have to pay for new OS?

You have to correct the problems one at a time. When you validate an issue, correct it, then move on. If the problems reoccurs, you know you've fixed something, but not your issue. Heat is a bad thing. 75 degrees after only about 15 seconds shows that your heatsink may not be seated correctly. Please correct this first, then let us know when you have that resolved.
