How to expand my screen display when playing

Alright, so since I updated my laptop to W7 I've been having some trouble playing in full screen mode. Everytime I launch a game 2 black bars pop up on the right and left side of the screen not allowing to display the entire screen section. Below I send a picture of what really happens:

    Also: (Toshiba Satellite L500-12G)
Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit
    Intel (R) Core (TM)2 Duo T6500 2.10GHz
    4,00GB RAM (2.96GB usable)

I'd appreciate your input in order to solve this issue asap.

    Thank you.

    hi,

search on internet for some patches/tweaks/fixes to play your game at fullscreen. You have a widescreen laptop (screen resolution should be 1366 x 768), and some games don't support this feature. You need to run it on 16:9, not on 4:3 like they're doing.

some games, like GTA 4, have a built-in feature which allow you to set the screen proportions (4:3, 16:9, 16:10 or automatic)... it should be in graphics settings menu... search for it :)

Hi, Have you changed your options in-game to your native resolution? It's the highest number in your case im guessing 1336x768.

If that does not work try 1280x720 and make sure aspect ratio is on 16:9/16:10

    Hope it works.
