Hey bud, a good friend of mine bought a pc with a HD 6970 2GB card, an most games he would suffer lag, micro stuttering, pink screen during games. He had enough and sent the card in to be looked at, it turned out it was overheating, he sold it an recently bought a Nvidia GTX 670, in my opinion for gaming/watching movie's/ drivers, then Nvidia win it hands down.

PS I am not saying yeah your card is over heating, but it may be a possibility.

    ^^ :]

It might have something to do with the in game video settings your using, try switching them up. Is this the only game that you play? Do you have this issue with other games?

Looking at your specs Bond, you are using a Laptop/Notebook ain't you??

Windows recommends at least 2gb of ram, go here www.canitunit.com or Mafia II PC Game System Requirements that will tell you if you meet the requirements for that game.

    Hope this helps pal

And also, I know Mafia II is a hardware hog, my Cousin tried running that on a GTX 460 and it didn't want to run right.

My pc shows pink lines in Driver San Francisco, caused by a glitch in the game itself.

After doing some research for you quickly, it seems like Mafia and ATI/AMD drivers do not get on at all, hopefully they fix this soon.

^^I had seen that as well. I used to be a fan of ATI/AMD. It wasnt a bad choice when the best game on the market was counter-strike
