Perhaps if you post your system specs and tell us about the keyboard/mouse and what exactly do you mean by functions, we may be able to help better? At least, I know I could!
For now, all I can say is... try to see if there are newer drivers for your keyboard, Win 7 will install standard/generic drivers so the keyboard does its basic functions. Either that or, try setting and options for the keyboard, perhaps there is something there that will prevent win 7 from opening up a window while in game. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom Built OS Vista x64 + Windows 7 x64 (Ultimate) CPU Intel Q9650 Motherboard EVGA 780i FTW Memory 8GBs Corsair Dominator 1066Mhz Graphics Card Asus GTX660 (2GBs) + MSI 9600GT (PhysX) Sound Card Onboard Realtek HD Monitor(s) Displays Acer AL2216W Screen Resolution 1680 x 1050 Keyboard Logitech G15 Mouse Logitech G9 PSU PC Cooling 750w Silencer Case Thermaltake Spedo Advance Cooling CM 8V Hard Drives WD VelociRaptor 300GB

Sounds like your keyboard came with software that lets you assign different actions to the F keys. You need to find what software that is and see if you can disable it before you start Minecraft. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Home Built, Dell Inspiron 1520 Laptop OS Win 7 Ultimate (64-bit), Win 7 Pro (32-bit) CPU 3.4Ghz 3770K i7, 2.4Ghz Core 2 Duo Motherboard Gigabyte Z77X-UD3H, Dell Memory 8G, 3G Graphics Card ATI Radeon HD 5770, Mobile Intel 965 Sound Card High Definition Audio (Built-in to mobo) Monitor(s) Displays Dell 2409W 24" Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard IBM Model M - used continuously since 1986 Mouse Microsoft PSU Antec Case Antec 100 Cooling CM 212+ Hard Drives 128G SSD OS; 1.5T & 2T Data on Desktop, 320G for laptop Internet Speed 1.5M down 1.2M up :-( Other Info Also have an Acer Aspire netbook, a home-built AMD Dual core (Minecraft server) and home-built Pent 4 all running Win 7. Also have various machines running XP, Win Server 2K, Win Server 2003, Linux and DOS. I think I have a problem... |

I know where the F keys are and what the do... it seems you are not reading or understanding what we are trying to tell you. Read your post and then read our post, understand them and then comeback with an answer to each of them... only then we can move forward.
Remember, we are not looking at your computer, we can only help you if you provide the information we need. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom Built OS Vista x64 + Windows 7 x64 (Ultimate) CPU Intel Q9650 Motherboard EVGA 780i FTW Memory 8GBs Corsair Dominator 1066Mhz Graphics Card Asus GTX660 (2GBs) + MSI 9600GT (PhysX) Sound Card Onboard Realtek HD Monitor(s) Displays Acer AL2216W Screen Resolution 1680 x 1050 Keyboard Logitech G15 Mouse Logitech G9 PSU PC Cooling 750w Silencer Case Thermaltake Spedo Advance Cooling CM 8V Hard Drives WD VelociRaptor 300GB

Google is your friend... Google
But, now we know something we didn't from your first post... you have a Laptop. That is a start.
I don't know laptops at all and they are very cumbersome (for me) when it comes to games so I will let others take over.

What would really help is if you were to tell us the manufacturer and model of the laptop you have. We could look up the system specs with that info. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Home Built, Dell Inspiron 1520 Laptop OS Win 7 Ultimate (64-bit), Win 7 Pro (32-bit) CPU 3.4Ghz 3770K i7, 2.4Ghz Core 2 Duo Motherboard Gigabyte Z77X-UD3H, Dell Memory 8G, 3G Graphics Card ATI Radeon HD 5770, Mobile Intel 965 Sound Card High Definition Audio (Built-in to mobo) Monitor(s) Displays Dell 2409W 24" Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard IBM Model M - used continuously since 1986 Mouse Microsoft PSU Antec Case Antec 100 Cooling CM 212+ Hard Drives 128G SSD OS; 1.5T & 2T Data on Desktop, 320G for laptop Internet Speed 1.5M down 1.2M up :-( Other Info Also have an Acer Aspire netbook, a home-built AMD Dual core (Minecraft server) and home-built Pent 4 all running Win 7.
