After watching all 3 E3 conferences on the net... i feel like somehow or another the PC is the undeclared winner of the conference lol.... It has never been a better time to be a PC gamer...

Microsoft and it's SmartGlass/Nike bs was underwhelming, Sony wasted 20 minutes on that Wonderbook bs.. and for a console unveiling Nintendo really dropped the ball on the Wii U.. only Pikmin was showcased.... the rest of it was just.. urggghh

The big 3 console makers aren't interested in placating the traditional gamers anymore it seems...

Assassin's Creed 3, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 and Medal of Honor: Warfighter are the games I will be looking forward to.

I hope that AS3 will have some much needed improvements over Revelations, which was, IMHO, boring as hell. Barely half an hour was actually relevant and interesting to the storyline anyway; and now, with a new character and setting, I wonder how Desmond will (if at all) fit into this game, as his story is still not finished >_<

And I have to say, this is the first Treyarch game that I'm actually looking forward to. We've all realised that what's left of InfinityWard, under the tyrant hand of Activision, and MW, this side of the COD series has nothing more to offer. The original Black Ops game was far more interesting story-wise than all Modern Warfare games combined, and for the first time I actually have high hopes for Black Ops.

As for Medal of Honor: Warfighter, I am glad that the developers still have the decency to consult and follow military advice and build the game mechanics upon that, even though this will be the first ever game NOT based on actual events and stories. My expectations are pretty high considering that the last game was too short and just a bit ridiculous.

For a PC FPS gamer like me, the link is a bit disheartening as the only thing I saw there that I can actually say I may like is Crysis 3

I know that I will eventually play the new CoD and MoH games but I didn't see anything on that link. Besides, it will be more of the run and gun concept, go collect trinkets to level up (things that kiddies are very fond off) but... at least they will be optimized console ports.

They can blame piracy all they want, I know that is not the case... when you can bamboozle kids into pre-ordering games sight unseen, why waste time making a finished game?

I'll just go back to my dark corner and drink a little bit more of my Hate-O-Ade!

Well, nobody else in their right mind would actually buy an Activision or an EA game anymore lol
Especially not if the developers don't need the support haha

Wow, Watch Dogs and Star Wars 1313... are we looking at next-gen titles?

    I missed Tomb Raider, though.

    Key words... Right Minds

If you go to the Ubisoft forums, you will see exactly my point.

There is a kid ranting about how is it possible for Ubisoft to be delaying the PC game GFRS, that he is about 'this close' to cancel his pre-order (mind you, there is no demo, nor there has been a PC-only actual gameplay showed as of yet IIRC), and here is the kicker... he admits that he pre-ordered the Xbox GRFS game, that the servers have been down almost everyday and the game is buggy and he didn't like it Little does he know that the PC is going to be even worse since it will be a bad port of the game he already has.

I ask you, with minds like this one... why would Activision, EA and UBI stop their practices? Hell, I wouldn't either! I mean, those people are just asking for someone to take their money and be taken for a ride!

Ah, thank you for reminding me, add Ubisoft to the list of must-pirate video game releases. After the Assassin's Creed DRM MADNESS AND UTTER FRUSTRATION that made me rip my own guts out through my throat, I swore I will never buy a game from them either!

I'd rather die, to be perfectly honest... Well, okay, not exactly die, but you get my point.
Companies that practice like EA does with their popular games, or just a plain outright fraud should NOT be supported no matter how much one (including myself) is against piracy.

I know this is not allowed to be discussed on this forum, but many people already know my thoughts on piracy - the "moral" approach and the "don't support evil companies" approach. Mind you, I am not a pirate; I have never bought a game and then deliberately uploaded it to a pirate tracker or such; like I said many times before, ALL the games I bought have already been either downloaded "illegally" and played before deciding for myself whether they're worth my money (because I NEVER believe game reviews) or had a great demo/beta release which drew me in so much that I knew right then and there that I wanted to have it...

But EA, Activision and Ubisoft? Never again will I buy one more game from them, no matter how great it may be, unless - like I already mentioned - the developer company is small/fairly unknown/DECENT and need that support to make more games.

Look at InfinityWard and what happened to them! I myself have no real idea whether they were pushed by their publisher NOT to include dedicated servers for MW1, or they were just lazy and greedy; but I can assure you that no matter how much effort they DID put into patching and fixing their games, the much more powerful publishers decided to pull the plug on their own.

Once again I mention the case of Pandemic Studios with the game "The Saboteur" from 2009. EA forcefully shut down their company before people had time to get past the first official beta patch for the game! How in the world was that a good practice on EA's part? The players were left mad and foaming at the mouths, while fans were dropped into despair of ever seeing another game from Pandemic (anybody who knows me from the forums KNOW how much I loved "The Saboteur", having mentioned it many times as my personal all-time favorite video game of all time)...

The point is that, like ANY other industry, the gaming world is suffering with a lack of EVERYTHING for the past, well, at least some 5-6 years, whether creativity or anything else, and the worst part of it is that most of the time, it weren't developers to blame, but the publishers and publishers only. THAT'S WHY I found myself putting very high hopes into Kickstarter and all those developers involved with it... As I mentioned in another thread, Kickstarter is a definite proof that there are STILL developers who develops game because they like developing games, and that the industry never even HAD a chance to lose ANY potential - it just lost someone whom they can share their honest ideas with!

I don t undestand some people preferences bout games, I mean AC3 got so bad, well it was never good as it was hyped to be, but that american story is just crap. I guess it s something the younger ones find good enough.

As for me, Darksiders 2, Black Ops 2 and that new game something with "Dogs" were the real hits at the E3.
