Battlefield 3 on my rig? How well will my rig work with higher settings? Hope my computer specs are saved, on my iPhone at the moment. Just wondering before I purchase?
Also, how well with my Internet for online play?
-2mb/s down
-0.6mb/s up
-local ping at 77ms and California at 170ms... I live in Alaska. Internet is slow and expensive here.
Sorry for minimal details... Thanks in advance. | My System Specs |

But my computer specifications don't meet the recommended specifications. Also, my Internet may not perform well either, which is what I'm more afraid of. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Gateway (Custom Rebuilt) OS Windows 7 Home Premium x64 CPU Intel Core 2 Quad @ 2.66GHz (Q8400) Motherboard GIGABYTE G41MT-S2P Memory 6GB (DDR3) Graphics Card EVGA GeForce 460 GTX-SE (1GB GDDR5) Monitor(s) Displays Gateway 19" HD-Display Screen Resolution 1920 x 1080 Keyboard Logitech G510 Mouse Logitech Performance MX PSU 570W Power Supply (Thermaltake) Case DX4710-05 Hard Drives 640GB @ 7200rpm Internet Speed 2mbps Download / 1mbps Upload (Wireless) |

You are above the minimum specs, but under the recommended specs on your video card. I expect you will be able to play on medium to high without trouble. Prior to buying my GTX 570, I was using an Nvidia 9800GTX+ and was able to play at low resolutions at 1920x1080 and it was alright. I have no problem playing high to ultra with my 570. I expect with your 480, you will be able to play medium to high.
I think your inet will be fine. While I have 15Mbit downloads...it doesn't use much of it. I have 1Mbit on my uploads...so just a little bit more than you. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Self-Built in July 2009 OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU Intel Q9550 2.83Ghz OC'd to 3.40Ghz Motherboard Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R rev. 1.1, F12 BIOS Memory 8GB G.Skill PI DDR2-800, 4-4-4-12 timings Graphics Card EVGA 1280MB Nvidia GeForce GTX570 Sound Card Realtek ALC899A 8 channel onboard audio Monitor(s) Displays 23" Acer x233H Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard ABS M1 Mechanical Mouse Logitech G9 Laser Mouse PSU Corsair 620HX modular Case Antec P182 Cooling stock Hard Drives Intel X25-M 80GB Gen 2 SSD

It's my latency I'm worried about. I live up in Alaska and the PING is a little higher than most of you down in the lower 48 states.
I had a rare 9800GT, with 1GB GDDR3 VRAM that ran Crysis on nearly highest details with 20 - 25 fps, with a damaged Intel 2.4GHz Quad Core processor. My GeForce 460 GTX-SE is about 3 times the performance of my 9800GT. However, Crysis I don't think is graphically intense as BF3, so I'm not sure how well my current card will hold up. But I'll report back here tomorrow, I'm currently downling 5GB of updates for BF3. Yes, I did purchase it. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Gateway (Custom Rebuilt) OS Windows 7 Home Premium x64 CPU Intel Core 2 Quad @ 2.66GHz (Q8400) Motherboard GIGABYTE G41MT-S2P Memory 6GB (DDR3) Graphics Card EVGA GeForce 460 GTX-SE (1GB GDDR5) Monitor(s) Displays Gateway 19" HD-Display Screen Resolution 1920 x 1080 Keyboard Logitech G510 Mouse Logitech Performance MX PSU 570W Power Supply (Thermaltake) Case DX4710-05 Hard Drives 640GB @ 7200rpm Internet Speed 2mbps Download / 1mbps Upload (Wireless) |

Your gtx 460 should have no problems what so ever running bf3,probably will run best at high settings and could probably do ultra at 30+ fps but will most likely get higher fps on High.Have a friend with a similar setup expect he has a phenom ii x6 1090T but with the same video card and says he gets around 45-54 on high and 36-42 ultra on average on his setup. The internet connection you have will most likely have latency issues but I would try to get on severs under the 200ping at least if you can or at least be something around close to 200 or lower if you can't get any better pings. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number me OS Windows 7 Home premium 64bit CPU AMD Phenom II X4 925 (Deneb) OC 3.4GHz Motherboard M5A78L-MLX Plus Memory 8192MB RAM DDR3 1600 Graphics Card XFX HD 6870 1GB (Connected via HDMI) Monitor(s) Displays Polaroid TLAC-02255 22" Digital HD LED TV and 17"LED Monitor Screen Resolution 1920x1080 60Hz / 1280x1024 60Hz Keyboard Microsoft USB Comfort Curve Keyboard 2000 (IntelliType Pro) Mouse Logitech Optical Gaming Mouse G400 PSU CORSAIR CX600 600w Case AZZA Orion 202 EVO with 3fans and a corsair af fan Cooling cooler master hyper TX3 cpu cooler Hard Drives 500gb hdd 7200rpm Western Digital Internet Speed 5.22Mbps download 0.65Mbps upload Antivirus Comodo Internet Security Browser IE 10 |

I've tested it on ultra high settings, and it's completely lag free... My GTX 460-SE is slaughtering the graphics. So you guys were correct on that. However, that may not be so during online play, where I heard it requires more hardware resources. I have yet to try that. Also need to test my internets latency. Lowest PING I found was 66ms, but no players in it. 66ms may be playable? | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Gateway (Custom Rebuilt) OS Windows 7 Home Premium x64 CPU Intel Core 2 Quad @ 2.66GHz (Q8400) Motherboard GIGABYTE G41MT-S2P Memory 6GB (DDR3) Graphics Card EVGA GeForce 460 GTX-SE (1GB GDDR5) Monitor(s) Displays Gateway 19" HD-Display Screen Resolution 1920 x 1080 Keyboard Logitech G510 Mouse Logitech Performance MX PSU 570W Power Supply (Thermaltake) Case DX4710-05 Hard Drives 640GB @ 7200rpm Internet Speed 2mbps Download / 1mbps Upload (Wireless) |

yeah 66 is very playable,it starts geting unplayable when you start passing the 200 ping mark, feels like your a second late at least to me.Some people say they can play fine like that but for me no more then 200 ping, I prefer my ping at least 150 or lower. 200ping is the farthest I'll go on playing on a sever for connections but that's just me. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number me OS Windows 7 Home premium 64bit CPU AMD Phenom II X4 925 (Deneb) OC 3.4GHz Motherboard M5A78L-MLX Plus Memory 8192MB RAM DDR3 1600 Graphics Card XFX HD 6870 1GB (Connected via HDMI) Monitor(s) Displays Polaroid TLAC-02255 22" Digital HD LED TV and 17"LED Monitor Screen Resolution 1920x1080 60Hz / 1280x1024 60Hz Keyboard Microsoft USB Comfort Curve Keyboard 2000 (IntelliType Pro) Mouse Logitech Optical Gaming Mouse G400 PSU CORSAIR CX600 600w Case AZZA Orion 202 EVO with 3fans and a corsair af fan Cooling cooler master hyper TX3 cpu cooler Hard Drives 500gb hdd 7200rpm Western Digital Internet Speed 5.22Mbps download 0.65Mbps upload Antivirus Comodo Internet Security Browser IE 10 |

Also, bear in mind that the visual differences between Medium, High and Ultra are very, very subtle and unnoticeable by most people while actually playing the game. I ALWAYS crank my graphics down a tad, even if I can max it all out, just to ensure that FPS stay high during gameplay. I'm not bothered if the water tower way off in the distance has a few jaggies..since I am not looking there, but rather directly at what is around me. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Self-Built in July 2009 OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU Intel Q9550 2.83Ghz OC'd to 3.40Ghz Motherboard Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R rev. 1.1, F12 BIOS Memory 8GB G.Skill PI DDR2-800, 4-4-4-12 timings Graphics Card EVGA 1280MB Nvidia GeForce GTX570 Sound Card Realtek ALC899A 8 channel onboard audio Monitor(s) Displays 23" Acer x233H Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard ABS M1 Mechanical Mouse Logitech G9 Laser Mouse PSU Corsair 620HX modular Case Antec P182 Cooling stock Hard Drives Intel X25-M 80GB Gen 2 SSD
