The Sims 3 Has Stopped Working.

    Hey guys.
I have had the Sims 3 and all expansions + stuff packs up to the Katy Perry one installed on my PC for about 3 days.
I have been playing fine until this morning when my game started to randomly close and say 'the sims 3 has stopped working' for no reason.

I have tried a LOT of solutions to fix this, and this is my last resort.

If anyone could tell me what was wrong with my game and how I can fix it that would be great :)

    Heres my error message:

Hi, and welcome to SF :)

"Access violation address" errors, in my experience, usually point out that the program (or in this case, the game) crashed because it tried to use a portion of the RAM memory reserved for the OS.
Did you by any chance tweak your RAM since installing the game?

    Also, I see:
    "[Instruction data]
    499dedb0 => DasmX86Dll.dll not found."

this dll is a part of W32DASM, some ancient 16/32bit disassembler. There is talk about it over at EA forums: DasmX86Dll.dll problem - Electronic Arts UK Community though some threads I found point more often to Spore rather than just the Sims...

Hey thanks for your advice. And no I dont recall touching the RAM at all since I got the game. Do you have any idea how to fix it anyway?

Ill post my dxdiag by the way just incase you need it.

I am not well versed in troubleshooting these kinds of things, really, but what I can ask is if you installed all these expansions and stuff packs by release order? And have you downloaded any game updates from the Sims3 launcher after installing all the addons? Perhaps an update to the game broke it...

Sims 2 had problems when you installed all the addons for the base game randomly; I haven't played the Sims 3 long enough to confirm that it has the same problem as Sims2.

The first thing that came to my mind is to run MemTest to test the RAM, but I cannot be sure that this is the actual problem. Perhaps someone else will pick up the thread and give some more insight into this.

EDIT: Here's the correct listing of TS3 installation process. These are major expansions that should be installed in order, the stuff packs can be installed at any time, and then finally updates from the game launcher...

    The Sims 3
    The Sims 3: World Adventures
    The Sims 3: Ambitions
    The Sims 3: High-End Loft Stuff/Design and Hi-Tech Stuff
The Sims 3: Fast Lane Stuff

I realize this may not be a complete list, but I stopped following TS3 expansions a while ago.

Thanks again for your reply. I definitely installed them all in that order so that shouldn't be the problem. I was updated to the latest version from the first time I played and there was no new version from then until now, so it can't be that an update broke it.

Then I would suggest that you use Revo Uninstaller Free (just open Revo, find the program, double-click, select ADVANCED and proceed) and uninstall the game completely, from the last installed expansions back towards the base game , wiping all the registry keys and leftover files that Revo reports, then install the game again. If you want to save your created characters backup the appropriate files from User/Documents/EA Games folder (or Electronic Arts, whatever it's called).

Also, consider finding updates for your graphics card, DirectX as well as C++ Redistributable(s) - 2005 and 2008 should do it, TS3 was originally released, what, in 2009?
