All games Lag offline and online on new Alienware 18x!

I bought my new alienware over 6 months ago and was working well on all my games such as FIFA 12 and Call of Duty : Black ops and Call of Duty : Modern Warefare 3.
After a while all my games lag. They lag just like when games lag when the charger isn't connected and you run a game. Please Help !

First off, Welcome to the Forums :).

Do you still need to use the disk to play your games? If so, the laser for the CD/DVD drive is currently unable to real the disk because of that.

Either that or your computer might be overheating a bit while playing making the same problem happen.

    Thanks for replying,
I don't play with my discs and I'm sure that overheating is not the case. Any advice ? Thanks.

alt tab out of a game when it is lagging and check task manager. Check the amount of ram being used.
Is you hard disk light constantly on? Flashing is fine but on more than not would show possible full ram which then has to be swapped with the HDD.

The HDD is slow so it could be lack of ram.

Have you tried lowering the graphics settings for a test to see if its better?
