    SWTOR Launcher

SWTOR came out with an update on 7/10/12. When I launch SWTOR it shows that the launcher is updating and then disspears. So far I've tried...

    launcher repair
    updating drivers
    updating Java

removing launcher.exe and swtor.exe from AV and firewall exceptions list then re-adding them

removing the game from the computer and reinstalling from www.swtor.com/download

I have an ASUS Republic of Gamers computer with windows 7 and a NVIDIA GTX 560M.

Hey ncupton. Sounds like a pretty serious issue. I just logged out of the game myself. I read on the forums somewhere that people with outdated gfx drivers are having major issues with the game launching since the last patch. I don't doubt you have the latest, but it couldn't hurt to double-check.
The next plan involves something that might be taken as a little risky, but it's only to be sure that the issue doesn't stem from your av or firewall. Try disabling them for as long as you run the launcher. I wouldn't recommend you disable them unless you know how to turn them right back on, but judging by your post you are at least somewhat computer savvy.
The 3rd option you may have already tried, but it's worth mentioning. When you start the launcher, there is a repair option, which I'm assuming you've mentioned. There is, however, a whole seperate program to run to try and make a more stable repair of it. I'm taking an educated guess that this won't solve the problem since you've removed the game (I'm hoping through the uninstall method in control panel) and downloaded it over again.
Lastly, if none of the above get you anywhere, I recommend you call or email Bioware. It looks as though this would be your best bet. From what you've described, you've tried practically everything under the sun, and the only method I described that I honestly think may have a chance of working is disabling your av and firewall. Depening on what kind / brand of software you have, they can nullify programs to the state of uselessness, and a lot of the times just adding certain types of programs (MMOs included) to their exclude list alone isn't enough to fix the issue.

Thanks. It seems like several people have found a wa to solve this issue but the methods are not consistant. One person just changed the date n his computer 10 days foward. Another person created another user account with admin privileges and the launcher will work on the new account he created but not there original. I could go on but I've tried most of what has been posted and it hasn't worked for me ad the fix isn't consistent.
