The last couple of times that I tried playing this game, the audio went out after a few minutes of play. I would just try reinstalling the game, but what bothers me is that once the audio quits, it won't work on the desktop or any other application, until I reboot.
In anticipation of possible responses, I have checked Windows audio, and nothing is muted, plus it does indicate an audio output. I also checked the Device Manager, and it indicate no sound problems. In addition, I checked the Task Manager, and I found no process that appears to be linked to FEAR still listed.
I have eliminated any kind of freak hardware problem, so what is left?
Ventrilo causing loss of audio on all applications, fix on reboot.
