♠ AGE OF EMPIRES 2 ♠ (Window Mode and colour fix)

This game will never get old, sure I will quit playing in a month but 3 months after that we will all be back into it again, I have googled off and on for days and thier is no quick fix simple works every time solution to fix the colours and play it in window mode.

This has to change, I know you can use task manager to stop explorer etc but it's dodgy also the bat file fix doesn't work for me neither.

And as far as playing in window mode I have absolutely no idea, but it would be better in a window with the type of gameplay and how busy we all get.

So..............anyone? anyone at all, Brink?

Aoe2 fans need a hero.

I heard that if you leave either the Screen Resolution or Personalize window open while you play SC 1 it removes the messed colors, so maybe that will work with AoE 2.

I had the very same problem and fixed it with the latest version. Try to download the latest patch from the official website:
Microsoft Age of Empires II: Age of Kings
Look at the 2.0a update, download and install. Worked for me, I can play it flawlessly in full screen after that (never tried windowed mode).
