Grand Theft Auto IV Video Problem

    Hey Guys,

The problem I am having with GTA IV is that when I am playing the game it is very choppy. I have monitored my system temps, nothing is running to hot. I've done google searchs to try and find a fix and all i've found is that they tell you to update with the latest patch. I've done so and nothing has changed.

    Thanks

you tried lowering the detail distance? even though you have a fantastic system, it's a port of a console game and is not optimized for PC at all.

For me I leave it at the default settings that gta iv recommends me, for me it says i can play with everything high and draw distance at 25 and vehicle density 45,view distance 40 and aa x4 is what it gives me and it runs smooth for me like that at my native res. Get 60fps in benchmark average since i got v-sync on but lowest dip i see is 45 but runs avg at 50-55 from what i see on my machine. LOL it's kind of random though, ran like at 45fps avg before i reinstalled windows and i just recently reinstalled windows last week and now i get almost 50-60fps avg.BTW running latest patch 1.0.0.7 and installed it manually and updated gfwl after letting it go with one run on the unpatched version then saved and exited and installed the newest patch and it runs fine for me.
