Give it a try i found it helped my friends a lot, but for me it didn't actually help. It seemed to make mine worse. If your gonna play video games, the biggest help i have found is using windows ready boost on a flash drive. This will not help much of course if you have lots of ram.
Here is my personal link for windows reayboost : https://www.dropbox.com/sh/i4l0jt1dn9abej3/AKhoGM2fOT
my personal link for gamebooster : https://www.dropbox.com/sh/5nxvarefjh1i6ns/H9KgykoB6a
EDIT: AS in your case ready boost will be render less. Question with specs like those, why do you want something such as game booster? | My System Specs | | Computer type Laptop System Manufacturer/Model Number Gateway Nv53U *LAPTOP* OS Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit 7601 Multiprocessor Free Service Pack 1 CPU AMD Athlon(tm) II Dual-Core M300 Motherboard Gateway SJV50TR Memory (X2) 2GB DIMM1 DDR-2 Graphics Card ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 Series Sound Card (1) ATI HDMI Audio (2) High Definition Audio Device Monitor(s) Displays 1024 x 768 x 32 bits (4294967296 colors) @ 60 Hz Screen Resolution 1024 X 768 Mouse Logitech M305 Hard Drives (1) WDC WD3200BEVT-22ZCT0 ATA Device (320 GB) (2) TOSHIBA TransMemory USB Device (16GB USB) Internet Speed 6 mbps Other Info I Do not have the best laptop / computer, but i do not have the knowledge to build a better one, nor the money to buy a better one:( |

Same hear with specs like those, you don't need something such as game booster.
But it help's sometimes in some games. As example i was
trying to play Prince Of Persia: Sands Of Time. But it's graphics are very choppy
and the game is lagging every second but when I've played it with game booster
the results are very good and game runs very smooth.
So it could be a help sometimes but not always. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Dell Insperon N5010 OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU i3 M380 2.53GHz Motherboard TOSHIBA MK5076GSX Memory 4 Gb Graphics Card intel HD Sound Card IDT Monitor(s) Displays Single Screen Resolution 1366x768 Keyboard Standerd PS2 Antivirus ESET Smart Security 5 Browser Firefox 19.0.2 |

In that case, give it a try. If it helps you continue with it, if not just remove it:P

It helps to an extent but only if your low on ram or your cpu bogs up with all the services open and all gamebooster does is close some services that windows opens that aren't necessarily needed when playing a game and leaves more room for your cpu and ram to handle. That's basically all it does. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop OS Windows 7 Home premium 64bit CPU AMD Phenom II X4 925 (Deneb) OC 3.4GHz Motherboard M5A78L-MLX Plus Memory 8192MB RAM DDR3 1600 Graphics Card XFX HD 6870 1GB (Connected via HDMI) Monitor(s) Displays Polaroid TLAC-02255 22" Digital HD LED TV Screen Resolution 1920x1080 60Hz Keyboard Microsoft USB Comfort Curve Keyboard 2000 (IntelliType Pro) Mouse Logitech Optical Gaming Mouse G400 PSU CORSAIR CX600 600w Case AZZA Orion 202 EVO with 3fans and a corsair af fan Cooling cooler master hyper TX3 cpu cooler Hard Drives Kingston Digital 60GB SSDNow V300 and 500gb HDD Western Digital 7200rpm (black) Internet Speed 6Mbps download 0.65Mbps upload Antivirus MSE Browser chrome |

well in my opinion game booster softwares does'nt help at all.. i mean gaming totally depends on the hardware and the configuration. If you have all the required softwares installed in your OS like updated video and audio drivers, directx, video codecs like the one that came with Zoom Player and a antivirus like MSE that does'nt eat your resources so you may not need any game booster at all. they don't make any difference in performance expect shutting down applications and services running in the background. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Self Built OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1 CPU Waiting for Haswell Motherboard Waiting for Haswell Memory G.Skill Ripjaws X 2x 2GB DDR3 1333 CL7 Graphics Card Will be next after Haswell Sound Card Built-In Monitor(s) Displays Samsung 933BW Plus Screen Resolution 1440x900 Keyboard A4Tech X7 G800 Mouse A4Tech X7 XL-747h + X7 801 Mouse Pad PSU Cooler Master GX-550w 80 Plus Bronze Case Cooler Master Elite 430 Black Cooling Waiting for Haswell Hard Drives Will buy after getting upcoming Haswell Internet Speed 4MB Cable Broadband Other Info Lamptron FC-5 V2 Fan Controller | Lamptron Dual CCFL Kit (Blue) | Liteon iHAS 322-07B DVD-RW | Xigmatek XLF-F1253 | CM 2x 120mm's | SVC 1.2KVA Off-line UPS |
