Have you installed any new GPU drivers recently? Game might not like them.

Ok I seemed to have fixed the problem by applying a slight overclock on each card from the standard 701mhz to 797mhz on air, seems to be running sweet aswell, I think my cpu aint helping much, going to try the new Bulldozer 8150 thanks for your reply Richard.

You definitely need a new CPU (either a X6 or bulldozer) and if possible, liquid cooling in order to OC the CPU to at least 4 GHz so you won't bottlenect those GTX 480s in SLI.
