New editions are supposed to be more able more complete blah blah blah. I am sick of the money grubbing companies (Microsoft)who have forgotten who I am and only want to make themselves richer by forgetting those of us who have supported them from the beggining. Windows 3.1. Damn it my old games at least to some extent should run on the new formats!!!!!! I will leave you behind and maintain an out of date format that you cant make another dime on if you dont accomodate me .
it is true for windows being complete
Timeline and Links to other windows
Windows 3.11 - 95 - 95B - 98 - 98se - ME (WDM/NONWDM)
NT3 NT4 2000 - XP - 2003 (WDM)
Vista - 2008 - 7 - 8 (WDDM 1.1/1.0)
Too keep my Reg clean and working at peak speeds i use Tune Up Utility's 2010
Only game i cant get to work is Sacred 2 since 7 is not supported as yet XP/Vista only it goes to show 7 is allot different to Vista in terms of whats under the hood
I also get my classics from GOOD OLD GAMES Even Tho i have them already so its ezy to use Buy Download and install and play no tweaking needed DOS box is integrated into games and or custom directX Drivers for windows games
apollodominion Have you tried getting Magic Carpet Plus to work on DOSBox I cant seem to slow the speed down in the game, it seems to run at 200fps and its unplayable, I have tried to Google setting for dosbox but nothing works atm.
Final Fantasy XI - Both, fully working.
Final Fantasy XIV - Both, fully working.
No tweaks/hacks required!
For nostalgias' sake I tested Diplomacy (The 1999 version released by Microprose - not the 2005 version released by Paradox Entertainment) on my Win 7 x64 (Professional) based PC.
I set it to install & run in "XP SP2" compatibility mode and it works 100%.
works on 64bit ??? any one sure of it ???Command & Conquer: Generals: Zero Hour
Speaking of nostalgia:
Mafia ~The City of Lose Heaven~ works on Windows 7 32bit when ran in compatibility mode with either XP or 2k, though the game will constantly crash upon quitting. No savegames and/or settings are lost, but for modern monitors you need to manually change the settings file in install dir to support resolutions such as 1920x1080
Mafia 2, of course, works flawlessly, lol, as well as the newest Worms ~Reloaded~
