Counter Strike LAN connection Hello Gamers
I have two machines, one desktop and laptop. Both are using internet connection from common router, desktop with LAN cable and laptop with wifi.
I want to play counter-strike with my friend, one player in desktop and another in laptop.
is it possible, how to connect both machines for counter strike ?
regards

If you want to play with just you 2 on your LAN, one machine will need to run the counter strike server program.
You'll need 2 copies of the game, one for each steam account.

The server program is what hosts the maps and game parameters that the players will connect to.
The more powerful machine will host the server program, since it has to host as well as run the client. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HAL-9000 OS Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit CPU Intel i7 3770K Motherboard Asus Sabertooth Z77 Memory 16GB DDR3 1333 Corsair XMS3 Graphics Card XFX HD6950 2GB EyeFinity Sound Card Logitech G35 & Sennheiser PC135 & VIA HD Monitor(s) Displays 23" HP 2310e, 23" Samsung B2230, 21.5" Viewsonic Screen Resolution 5760x1080 Keyboard Logitech G15 and G13 Mouse Logitech G700 Gaming Mouse PSU Antec True Power New 650watt Case Cooler Master HAF-932 Cooling Corsair H60 Hydro Cooler, 3x 230mm Fans, 2x120mm Fan Hard Drives 16TB of Storage

Which version of Counter-Strike is this? You should be able to start your own server from the menu of either machine (from memory it may say "Create Game"/"Create Server"/"Host") - then server browse using the LAN tab | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number ASUS OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64, Windows 7 Professional x64, Windows XP x64 SP3 CPU i7-2630QM Memory 32.00 GB Graphics Card nVidia GTX 560M Monitor(s) Displays Default 17`` & LG IPS234 Screen Resolution 1920 x 1080 Keyboard tT eSports Challenger Ultimate Mouse Razer Deathadder Black Edition Hard Drives Internal:
