    Fallout 3

I've read a lot of post on how to fix it so you can play Fallout 3 on Windows 7. I've done the run as admin. and changed the preference to Windows XP, and tried Windows Vista.
I even tried opening it in Window mode. Nothing. I get as far as start a new game. Then it closes partially so half of my screen is black and I get a window saying it shut down and windows is trying to find the problem.. It freezes my screen and I have to pull up the task manager to get out of it.

Is there anything else I can try, before I just give up?

Oh and when I downloaded the game, it's not in my programs folder, and there is no desktop icon I have to go into my computer to find it. This was unusual for me. Is that normal?

I think you mean "install" the game on the computer, not "download".
