Windows 7 seems to be working fine with most modern games. What's the issue?

And be aware that the OS is just one of many factors that games are dependent on. Ex: Drivers, Patches, Software, Hardware, system configuration, Internet connection speed, and so forth. Perhaps you want a closed system like X-Box? And even those have issues.

And no matter what OS is out, developers still have to put out a quality product. Something we see everyday that's surely lacking.

    My two cents.

Windows is and always was a general purpose OS, not something gaming specific. All computer OSs in fact are all-purpose and don't focus specifically on gaming, nevertheless the CAN run any one without problems. I've played all kind of games on Windows since 3.11 up to 7 without major problems.
Gaming specific OS are those enclosed in the consoles like Playstation.

With the majority of games being console ports to PC (some good, some bad and some even atrocious), what is to be gain by a Gaming OS? Seriously though... I would love to know, fi anything, to learn something new

Running Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit seems to have no ill effects on games, even the old ones.

They have this already it is called Dual Monitors lol .............

you can fix a Game in Windowed mode and do work on the other monitor

The trick is to Extend the Monitors and just use each one as it was individual

I often tryed this just to see if it would work and it does the job but realisticly

When I game it is just that I don't find a need to switch back and fourth and put more strain on my unit then is needed

    They do. It's called Xbox.

On decent hardware, Windows is perfectly fine for gaming as is.

Really? I've seen developers pull some pretty neat tricks to get some of these games running and looking as good as they do considering the limitations.

You can't get much more stripped than a dedicated device.
