I am pretty sure that this screw went missing when I sent my laptop to the service center after my hard drive failed under warranty but it's already been a year when that happened.

I did a clean boot but I still crashed. When I changed the boot settings back to normal, my boot time became significantly slower. I took note of the programs that I disabled to run on start-up and it doesn't make any difference. It gets much slower after a crash. I already defragged my drives and used Ccleaner. It's seriously annoying and taking too much time.

Puran Defrag - Automatically Defrag your Hard Disk Drives

Do a boot time defrag using puran, alongwith the clean boot.

Wow. Everything became faster. Interestingly, I was able to play for more than an hour before crashing. The full disk check found errors and fixed it. This actually gave me some hope that my video card isn't broken. Or is it?

May not be, but taking the stress test will not hurt.

However, post your latest crash, following the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions. If there is no crash dump, still the other things will help a lot.

Do you use Speccy? Can you tell me the heat scores of the computer, including the graphics card, normally, and during one hour of gaming?

I have Speccy but I use RealTemp and GPU-Z to monitor my temperatures.

    CPU:
    Min Temp: 64C
    Max Temp: 79C
    Ave. Temp: 69-72

    GPU:
    Ave. Temp: 65C

I have turbo disabled because it gets my laptop really hot, reaching 90+C. It's my cheap thermal paste's fault. Also, my latest dump file was at November 23. Probability of getting black screens right now got comparatively lower when I followed your steps of running Puran Defrag.

You afford a cooling pad, it might help :)

Sorry for the late reply. I was looking for a cooling pad but there wasn't any that supports my laptop size. So ironic.

I've been hooked to this game called "Arcane Legends" and I'm playing it on my laptop because I'm afraid to fry my smartphone. I can play this game for one whole day without shutting down. I played without turbo boost disabled. Interestingly, my temps are the same with the ones I posted with turbo boost disabled.

I've been trying to find a better thermal paste. Stocks should be coming soon since Christmas is around the corner. I hope I can get my hands on one and I'll gladly come back to this thread and post my findings.

Hey Arc, sorry to keep you hanging. I was lucky enough to get a TX-4, as there was only 3 left from the shop. I got it the other day and installed it today and I immediately saw improvement on idle and load temps. However, it gets to 90C after 3-4 hours of gaming. I am still getting black screens but it's a major improvement. I am able to play half a day without getting one.

So I thought maybe the fan is the culprit here. It feels like it's blowing a little less air than when it was brand new. Moreover, it's my fault since I didn't hold the fans when I blew it with compressed air (it was my first time cleaning it). It's either my fans, or my laptop is broken.

In such a situation, better you take it to a technician.
