SimCity on Windows 7

I have been a Sims 3 fan and player for the longest time. I have been noticing the game getting buggier and buggier by every update and it gets more frustrating to play each time. I am thinking about looking elsewhere for PC gaming entertainment. Does or has anybody played SimCity 4 or any SimCity games on Windows 7? If so, it is compatible and stable?

I've tried playing SimCity 3000 on W7, but I don't think I had it working. 4000 should work on Windows 7.

Though I have to say that 2,000 was the best one in the series. I'm surprised they haven't made anymore SimCities.

I'm really thinking I need to switch to some other PC game just because The Sims 3 seems more buggy than it used to be. The game performance is SLOW and almost every update released someone is having an issue with their game not doing this, or that, or crashing, or freezing...the list goes on. I was gonna buy the newest expansion pack out, Seasons, but the more I thought about it, it probably won't help the slowness of the game's performance.

Another game that will play but will not install due to a 16-bit installer. Unfortunately, manual install won't work with this game as the game requires registry entries. I found a torrent file for the game that had been specifically hacked to work on 64-bit Windows, which was my only install...

SimCity 2000 works on Windows 7!
I thought that this might be worth noting. I have tried Sim City 2000 Special Edition (released around 1995) in Windows 7 Home Premium x64. It ran perfectly even without compatibility mode on. The only problem I had was to turn 256-color compatibility on because the animations do not work in an RGB...

Running 16-bit SimCity Classic on Windows 7
So I just got a new computer and it is running Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit). I'd like to play SimCity Classic (which worked on my old XP machine), but it won't install since it is a 16-bit application. I tried using DosBox, and I'm pretty sure that isn't going to work either. XP mode seems like...
