Far Cry 3 discussion thread.

To all of those you playing, what are your thoughts etc?

So far I think they really did learn their mistakes from FC2.

They've also added some great features, 'inspired' by other titles.

►anyone else feel a red Dead redemption vibe when it comes to hunting/skinning animals?

►There's now more 'busy' work with more types to find in object gathering.

►Fast travel has improved significantly. Not quite Fallout fast travel, but close.

►Weapon handling/shooting feels very solid and the weapons sound great.

►Voice acting is pretty good - even if the locals sound like kiwis.

►Story line is adequate enough.

►Looks fantastic maxxed out.

No more repetitive, magically re-populated outposts. Once you do an outpost, it stays done.

However that eye candy comes at a price. Since there is currently no SLI profile for FC3, it's all down to running off a single 670. To maintain max settings, I had to lose AA and vsync. With x4 enabled, it literally halved the frame rate.

*I think the latest AMD beta driver has CF working for FC3.

What about you guys?

That review by a mega site was not at all bad, I just hate the fact that to do a nice CGI scene they play with my intelligence a bit... like when you are taking down a baddy stealthy-like.

I am not to convince and since this is Ubi we are talking about, I will wait a while longer to decide where I will like to stand with it.

smarteyeball, I thought it was not going to be out until December, do you know anybody at Ubisoft, perhaps a secret handshake or something or as always... I am a day late and a dollar short!

Going to pre-order the Deluxe Edition next week since I'm in NA and it's not out yet.

I do hear a lot of good things about it though!

Lol, no. It was released early in a few regions. I think they do it like this so when it's released to the big markets, there's already a patch or two for it.

I'm really enjoying this game. However one downside to taking over out posts is that after clearing a few of them, there's no one to really kill in those areas when exploring etc

It's a shame you can't use a controller and m/kb together like the last one. Vehicles are a lot more fun with a controller, but the aiming is poor. I used to jump in a vehicle, use the controller. Jump out and back to m/kb.

Niggles aside, they went back to the drawing board and re-added fun to far cry.

General Anime Discussion Thread
Another one of my more "laid-back" threads. Basically all I'm asking is whether you watch (or have watched) anime, and if so what have you seen, or if applicable, what are you watching now? Feel free to discuss to any length as well, we're already geeky enough around here, what's one more addition...

So, just a general discussion thread for us guys who like shooting eachother in the face, and a healthy lack of respect for punkbuster! Anyway, I understand the concept for bringing LIVE to windows, so you can use your 360 gamertag, and achievments etc. But what games DO support it? I...
