Are you sure that GT220 passes even the minimum requirement? Were you able to play the game before on this machine?

    Here, try this... http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri

If it passes, then only thing I can think off is... corruption on the drivers

You haven't downloaded a cracked/pirated copy? If so, then I believe there is no way to fix it
If not, try right-clicking and then select "Run as Administrator"

Here, try this... Can You RUN It | Can I run that game | Game system requirements

If it passes, then only thing I can think off is... corruption on the drivers
Yes, it passes the requirement spec. My computer can play Battlefield 3 smoothly with everything set to low though. Battlefield 3 spec is higher than COD 4 right? I don't think it is corruption on the drivers.

    Thanks

Did you update your drivers before or after you installed the game? if after, I would do so again... heck, I would do so again just for good measure... throw the audio driver as well while you are at it... it won't hurt and you may get lucky!

Remember to uninstall the drivers first, also uninstall PhysX, restart, let Win 7 install the generic ones and then install the latest drivers, restart and test the game. If that does not work, perhaps you could uninstall the game again... if it asks you to install DirectX, do so, most people don't and trouble comes a knocking!
