    Minecraft Randomly Freezing my Computer

When I'm playing minecraft, at RANDOM times, the entire computer will just freeze for me. The sound gets stuck in this jarring freeze like repeat and I can't click Ctrl-Alt-Delete or Alt-f4 or anything. I can normally play at 100 fps with no problems until this freeze happens. I've tried letting it sit for a while but it just remains frozen. It doesn't give me BSoD, it just freezes. Also, I've checked my event log but no unusual events show up besides the computer shutting down unexpectedly. This seems to happen ONLY when I'm playing MINECRAFT. PLEASE HELP!

Without knowing your computer specs is hard to say what the problem is. Aside from this, your explanation is very vague but, what I would do to begin with is:

Download the latest audio and video drivers from the manufacturer and copy them to a temp folder, also download a copy of Ccleaner, do a windows update if you haven't done it in a while, uninstall your video drivers (if you have an Nvidia card, don't forget to uninstall PhysX) as well as your audio drivers, restart computer and go to Safe Mode, open Ccleaner and run the cleaner and registry cleaner, restart again and let win 7 install generic drivers, go to temp folder and install your newest audio and video driver, restart and hopefully, this should help with your freezing.

Thank you for taking the time to reply. I've updated the computer specs for you to take a look at. I have the latest audio and video drivers already, should I still go through all the steps you suggested?
I should also mention that I built this computer very recently (Dec 2012)

Did you download the proper minecraft.jar for either 32bit or 64bit windows installation?
    Latest java version?
Open GL properly installed as well?

You spent money on an i7 but didn't even buy a mediocre dedicated GPU? just a question, not really judging!

How do you know that you have the latest drivers? just trying to make you give us a more extensive explanation... given that you said it was a new built, most people believe that just because the PC or the built is new, it means they have the latest drivers installed

+1 on the Latest Java... also latest Codecs, Flash Player, Shockwave and M$ Silverlight just for good measure.
