uhmm for the record that card is atleast 5 years old and your complaining it just burnt out consider yourself lucky

with how much RMA is on hardware you can't point the finger at anyone and besides the chart states which is faster which is the 7850 because the memory bandwith rate is alot higher meaning more data is being reported and the pixel fill rate is higher as well it beats the 660 in the categories you would look at the most
Also an HD 5670 and an HD 6750 gave me problems, and they aren't 5 years old cards... The HD 5670 never showed me something on the display and the HD 6750 made the system reboot every time I launched a heavy graphics game.

Personally I'd buy the GTX 660 OC, but the HD 7850 seems to be a good card too... I hope that AMD HD 7000 series is much better than the previous ones...

In reviews the GTX 660 is a little faster than the HD 7850, but the difference seems to be minimal... The 2 cards should have - more or less - the same performance level...
i bought a HD5670 4 years ago never gave me not one issue then went to the HD5770 then HD6870 now i am running 2x7970'S no issues at all i have also ran Nvidia 5000 series and 7000 series cards from back in the day never had issues with either last Nvidia card was 7300GT 512mb AGP it lasted for along time hell i almost beat kane and lynch dead men with that card and th at game was kind of demanding even played left4 dead 2 with it as well

Your NVIDIA card supports PCIE 3.0 but your mobo looks like it only supports PCIE 2.0. Now, if I read that correctly, you might have some issues or you might not get the throughput that you expected. Maybe I read it wrong so please confirm my suspicions.

No difference whatsoever. PCIE 3.0 is a waste of time right now. You will not see any difference if you use a 3.0 card on a 3.0 mobo, or if you use a 3.0 card on a 2.0 motherboard.

Hi Erick,

That is a well know fact but thank you for reminding me because it does sound like I was indicating that he might experience a slowdown. Unfortunately, I'm getting lazy in my old age and, quite frankly, I'm tired of writing book responses and getting one-liners in return. So, this time, I'll simply say to the OP "Do your homework and research the GTX 660 thoroughly because there are many unhappy campers out there who tried to unsuccessfully install it in a PCIe 3.0 hardware slot and then tried to unsuccessfully install it in a PCIe 2.0 hardware slot. From my research, these failed installations occurred mostly on Gigabyte and ASRock motherboards of various model numbers. And, when you throw in your intention to overclock, I'm guessing I'll be reading about you woes as well... but hopefully not!" Good luck...
