    SimCity launch - meltdown

Right off the bat the game has a few cons; EA, Origin, DRM, no true single player/solo mode - no local saves.
People who don't trust EA can purchase through Amazon, ok. Well you still need Origin, which means you must agree with their eula.
Few seem surprised that EA botched another launch.
20+ minute wait times for server ques. If your lucky to hit one be prepared to be forced into a tutorial, again. A few minutes of game time and then get booted. Back to the que, crap shoot if you can find your saves, but wait - you can sit in an alt server que and then start all over. This seems to be a good work around for the siren bug. Hey, good thing the maps are dinky.
On the Amazon page users are venting - time of post 700 reviews; 620 1-star / 16 5-star.
On the simcity forum it's a bit cleaner, with the fanboys and all, but the frustration is apparent.
Remembering countless hours on SC prior releases I would hope that EA fixes this, but I am not betting on that.
Installed on my girlfriends pc, 60$ Amazon d/l. Personally I will not install Origin, but whatever. 3 days later, she (ok we) still can't play the game. As a result, no happy ending. Now, I have to go buy flowers or something that'll tie things over. I'm very disappointed in EA.

    This review:

'' I really don't understand the negative reviews for this. I've never seen another game emulate the experience of sitting at a loading or queue screen quite like this. Would definitely purchase more from this company! ''

    My sides. My poor sides.

Looks like I won't be buying this then.

I wonder how many kiddies purchased the game, got tired of waiting, tossed it aside and told Mommy to buy them another one.

If we as people had a little more patient, do a little more research before purchase, things would be better. Don't misconstrue, major part of the fault lies on EA and whomever are making these shoddy games BUT, they keep doing it because we keep buying them.

I hope things workout for those of you with a lighter wallet.

The game is awesome once you can get in. They drastically improved and increased the server amount and load. I haven't had many problems connecting recently. Currently playing with a large group of members (I guess we can be considered a clan) on several 16 player regions. Having a lot of fun.

The current city I'm working on was recently a massive industrial super polluting zone that had three $100,000 BONDS and a negative income. After a lot of work it's now rolling with ~70k population and a rough ~$6k income.
