Gaming Windows 7 Laptop Compatibility Issues

    Hey Guys,

Just a quick question for anyone who may be able to help me. I have played several games on my Windows 7 laptop and every time I boot up one of them it keeps bringing blacking the side sections of the screen out so I cant go beyond a certain point. I think it may be because of the compatibility issues with certain games and Windows 7 but I'm not sure. I have been trying to work it out for about 3 - 4 years now but never found a solution.

If anyone is able to find a solution it would be much appreciated.

The games are Maplestory, Combat Arms EU, Mabinogi, Sudden Attack, Vindictus, Rappelz and also Alliance of Valiant Arms.

I have looked all the way round the internet for a solution and also on this forum but havent been able to find a solution. If anyone has a solution can they please either PM me or comment on this thread to tell me if there is a possible solution. I have already tried doing the screen resolutions and trying to change several settings that people have told me to change that may have fixed it and also looked on Youtube for solutions of how people have fixed it in the past but I have had no luck unfortunately. So any advice of how to fix these bugs would be great.

If anyone is able to find a solution it would be much appreciated.

    Many Thanks.

    Peace Out.

Hi Darkroadrage, can I ask you for the model number of the laptop in question? we need to know the hardware before we can diagnose the problem, thank you.

My current laptop is a Acer Aspire 5349. This same problem happened with my previous laptop aswell. It was a Windows 7 Laptop Acer Aspire 5332. I wonder if it may be a general problem with Windows 7. Well thats what ive always thought because it happens with most games. If there is a solution though it would be great to hear it.

    Thanks :)

i've googled your particular laptop, it appears to have an issue with the Intel chipset(graphics card), which causes it to freeze in PC mark(graphics testing tool), this makes me think that it maybe those particular games which cause it to display artifacts on screen, you could try and update your drivers as more compatible drivers may have been released since the problems.

Aspire 5349-2635 is no choice for gamers, creeping under 11 frames per second in both Crysis and Lost Planet 2 at medium quality settings. And the 5349-2635 failed to complete our PCMark 7 overall performance benchmark test, getting stuck in a video loop that benchmark maker Futuremark's online forum identifies as a known problem with some low-end integrated graphics platforms.

If the drivers were off the acer site, they are behind a long way since Intel keep their own drivers up to date, you can try this link http://downloadmirror.intel.com/2237...n64_152812.exe

Update to this driver if you can and see if that helps, if not then we will start looking at hardware issues.

This problem has now been resolved guys. My dads mate fixed it by going into screen resolution and changing the resolution to 1024 x 768 and the same on the game so it has done what I wanted

If I have anymore problems with Windows 7 I will surely come to you guys for a solution

Thanks for your support guys much appreciated.

    Peace out
