Windows 7: Can't Sync Guitar xbox 360 Controllers with my xbox 360 Win Reciever

No matter what I've never been able to sync anything besides my old while X-box 360 controller to my official Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Reciever. Whether I install via disc on my old copy of Windows XP 32 bit, or via downloading then installing the accessory software for Windows 7, then choosing said driver from the list of available ones, the result is the same. Its terribly annoying having a 2nd and the 3rd gen guitar controllers for Xbox 360 (I kept them after I sold my Xbox 360 from lack of the system being that great). They worked perfectly with my Xbox 360 back then, but they just won't sync with my Receiver now. Microsoft is supposed to have a ton of drivers for other Xbox 360 wireless controllers, but it sure doesn't look like it to me! I could certainly use some help.
