In my opinion it's the CPU. Check the CPU load when you're playing.
Also check if Intel Hypertreadhing technology is enabled in your BIOS (if your Pentium 4 supports it).
I will but the CPU always worked fine :S
Well first my CPU Usage was going crazy, basicly jumping from 13% to 100% then 98% etc, but when the game fully loaded and opned it staied between 9%-60%
How is RAM usage?
36%+
I added 1 more gb to ram btw
dint change anything
You could try to reinstall Windows....
Keep in mind that gaming on a Pentium 4 with a Radeon X1550 isn't really good.
I suggest you to upgrade your CPU to a Core 2 Duo one: the slowest Core 2 Duo CPU (the E6300, which I own in my 2nd pc) is more than double faster than the fastest Pentium 4 CPU. You can find one used of them on ebay for about 30 bucks.
The Core 2 Duo E6300 can handle modern games and overclocks really well.
And yes, your motherboard supports Core 2 Duos
But my pc used to be able to play just fine, i dont really play the recent games, just LoL and it used to be good, even after the Graphic patch it worked wonderfully
Graphics patch?
Simply uninstall Ati Drivers and install a previous one version.
Or use system restore points to undo your driver update.
~I did my driver update since i installed windows, and i always use the AMD site to update and it doesnt
"let" me install a previous one, just the most recent one
search on the web for a previous version of your graphics card driver...
